It is used to gather, organize, and procure HTTP/S, SOCKS4, and SOCKS5 proxies. They can be used for web scraping, penetration testing, bypassing censorship, and many other tasks!\n  \u003c/p\u003e\n  \n  \u003cp align=\"center\"\u003e\n    The software is currently capable of retrieving over 500,000 proxies from many different sources.\n  \u003c/p\u003e\n  \n  \u003cp align=\"center\"\u003e\n    This project is for educational purposes only— Please do not use this for illegal activities.\n  \u003c/p\u003e\n\u003c/div\u003e\n\n---\n\n## Installation\n\n- Clone the repository:\n\n```bash\ngit clone https://github.com/0xSolanaceae/proXXy.git\n```\n\n- Navigate to project directory:\n\n```bash\ncd proXXy\n```\n\n- Install dependencies with `poetry`:\n\n```bash\npoetry install\n```\n\nIf you don't have `poetry` installed, install it [here](https://python-poetry.org/docs/#installation).\n\n## Usage\n\n- Activate the poetry shell:\n\n```bash\npoetry shell\n```\n\n- Running the program without flags results in only scraping, as checking is disabled by default:\n\n```bash\npython3 proXXy.py\n```\n\nThe program will modify four files in the `output/` directory with your proxies:\n\n- `HTTP.txt`\n- `HTTPS.txt`\n- `SOCKS4.txt`\n- `SOCKS5.txt`\n\n with a logfile (`error.log`) with warnings/errors.\n\n## Flags\n\nSyntax for running proXXy is as follows:\n\n```bash\nusage: proXXy.py [-h] [--validate] [--update] [--version] [--src_check]\n```\n\n1. `-V, --validate`: This flag enables proxy validation. The scraper will look to validate the scraped proxies by checking their accessibility.\n\n2. `-u, --update`: This flag updates the project. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other flag.\n\n3. `-h, --help`: Use this flag to spit out a help menu.\n\n4. `-v, --version`: Use this flag to spit out `proXXy.py`'s version.\n\n5. `-s, --src_check`: Use this flag to categorize the sources according to how many proxies they provide.\n\n```bash\nusage: proXXy.py [-h] [--validate] [--update] [--version] [--src_check]\n\nA super simple asynchronous multithreaded proxy scraper;\nscraping \u0026 checking ~500k HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4, \u0026 SOCKS5 proxies.\n\noptions:\n  -h, --help      show this help message and exit\n  --validate, -v  Flag to validate proxies after scraping (default: False)\n  --update, -u    Flag to run the update script and then exit\n  --version, -V   Print the version of the script and exit\n  --src_check, -s Flag to verify sources\n```\n\n## Planned Features\n\n- Fix Unix-like compatibility errors. `proXXy` currently does not support unix-like proxy checking.\n- Allow the user to choose the number of threads they'd like to use with flags, \u0026 provide the user recommended values based on their hardware.\n- Implement SOCKS4 \u0026 SOCKS5 testing.\n- Proxy sorting instead of hardcoding.\n- Discerning between Elite, Anonymous, and Transparent anonymity classes of proxies.\n\n## Support\n\nNeed help and can't get it to run correctly?
