R is commonly used in many\nscientific disciplines for statistical analysis and its array of third-party\npackages. We find that many scientists who come to Software Carpentry workshops\nuse R and want to learn more. The emphasis of these materials is to give\nattendees a strong foundation in the fundamentals of R, and to teach best\npractices for scientific computing: breaking down analyses into modular units,\ntask automation, and encapsulation.\n\nNote that this workshop focuses on the fundamentals of the programming\nlanguage R, and not on statistical analysis.\n\nA variety of third party packages are used throughout this workshop. These\nare not necessarily the best, nor are they comprehensive, but they are \npackages we find useful, and have been chosen primarily for their \nusability.\n\nMaintainers:\n\n* [Tom Wright][wright_tom]\n* [Naupaka Zimmerman][zimmerman_naupaka]\n\n[gapminder]: http://www.gapminder.org/\n[wright_tom]: http://software-carpentry.org/team/#wright_thomas\n[zimmerman_naupaka]: http://software-carpentry.org/team/#zimmerman_naupaka\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2FEEOB-BioData%2FR-Data-Skills","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2FEEOB-BioData%2FR-Data-Skills","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2FEEOB-BioData%2FR-Data-Skills/lists"}
