is a minimalistic Open Sound Control (OSC) communication module\nwhich uses asyncio for network operations and is compatible with the\nasyncio event loop.\n\nInstallation\n============\n\naiosc requires at least Python 3.7. It can be installed using pip::\n\n    pip3 install aiosc\n\nAlternatively, use ``--user`` option to install aiosc only for the current user::\n\n    pip3 install --user aiosc\n\nUsage\n=====\n\nTo send OSC messages with ``aiosc``, create an asyncio datagram connection\nendpoint of type ``aiosc.OSCProtocol``.\n\nA datagram connection can be created with the ``aiosc.connect`` convenience\nfunction or ``create_datagram_endpoint`` of the asyncio event loop. Both have\nthe same set of arguments. Use the argument ``remote_addr`` to specify\nthe OSC server address and port as follows:\n\n.. code-block:: python\n\n    import asyncio\n    import aiosc\n\n    async def main():\n        client = await aiosc.connect(remote_addr=('127.0.0.1', 8000))\n\n        client.send('/hello/world')\n        client.send('/a/b/cde', 1000, -1, 'hello', 1.234, 5.678)\n\n    asyncio.run(main())\n\nSubclassing ``aiosc.OSCProtocol`` is the recommended way of creating\nOSC server implementations.\n\n``aiosc.OSCProtocol`` provides a convenience async class method ``connect``\nthat can be used to bind the UDP socket and connect it to a remote endpoint\nusing ``local_addr`` and ``remote_addr`` arguments.\n\nIn a typical case, local address will look like ``('0.0.0.0', 9000)`` where\n``9000`` is the port number and ``0.0.0.0`` address designates that the server\nwill be listening on all available network interfaces.\n\n.. code-block:: python\n\n    import asyncio\n    import aiosc\n    import sys\n\n    class EchoServer(aiosc.OSCProtocol):\n        def __init__(self):\n            super().__init__(handlers={\n                '/sys/exit': lambda addr, path, *args: sys.exit(0),\n                '//*': self.echo,\n            })\n\n        def echo(self, addr, path, *args):\n            print(\"incoming message from {}: {} {}\".format(addr, path, args))\n\n    async def main():\n        server = await EchoServer.connect(local_addr=('0.0.0.0', 8000))\n        await asyncio.get_running_loop().create_future()\n\n    asyncio.run(main())\n\nFor more examples, see ``examples/``.\n\nOSC address patterns\n====================\n\n``aiosc`` dispatches messages to handler methods using glob-style address\npattern matching as described in the OSC 1.0 specification. The ``//`` operator\nfrom OSC 1.1 preliminary specification is also supported.\n\nExamples:\n\n* ``/hello/world`` matches ``/hello/world``.\n* ``/hello/*`` matches ``/hello/world`` and ``/hello/sarah``.\n* ``/{hello,goodbye}//world`` matches ``/hello/world`` and ``/goodbye/cruel/world``.\n* ``//*`` matches any address.\n\nNotes\n=====\n\nBundles are not yet supported.\n\nOSC data types are picked from the preliminary spec documented in Features\nand Future of Open Sound Control version 1.1 for NIME paper. For example,\n``I`` typetag is decoded to Impulse (aka \"bang\") which is passed around\nas ``aiosc.Impulse`` singleton.\n\nSuggestions, bug reports, issues and/or pull requests are, of course, welcome.\n\nLicense\n=======\n\nCopyright (c) 2014 Artem Popov \u003cartfwo@gmail.com\u003e\n\naiosc is licensed under the MIT license, please see LICENSE file for details.\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fartfwo%2Faiosc","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Fartfwo%2Faiosc","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fartfwo%2Faiosc/lists"}
