This project has been succeeded by a newer React + Supabase implementation, but remains archived here for historical reference and potential reactivation.\n\n## Features\n\n- Rails 5 monolith app with PostgreSQL and Redis\n- Admin dashboard to manage players and clans\n- In-game data integration using OSRS Hiscores\n- Job queues via Sidekiq for player stat syncing\n- Simple user authentication and session tracking\n- Basic frontend built with ERB, Bootstrap\n\n## Getting Started\n\n### Prerequisites\n- Ruby 2.7+\n- Rails 5.2+\n- PostgreSQL\n- Redis\n\n### Installation\n```bash\ngit clone https://github.com/atayl16/siege.git\ncd siege\nbundle install\nyarn install\nrails db:setup\nredis-server\nrails server\n```\n\n### Environment Variables\nCreate a `.env` file and define the following if required:\n```\nRAILS_MASTER_KEY=your_key_here\n```\n\n## Development\n\n- Job queues powered by Sidekiq\n- Player data syncs pulled from OSRS API\n- Performance monitored via Skylight (if enabled)\n\n## Tests\n\nThis repo does not include full automated test coverage but supports RSpec if added. The new version improves testing setup.\n\n## Deployment\n\nOriginally hosted on Heroku with Redis, PostgreSQL, and a background worker.
