Azen\n\nThis repository contains the core codebase for **Azen** — a developer-first AI memory layer.\n\nAzen provides a secure, scalable way to store, retrieve, and reason over long-term user memory for AI applications.\n\n---\n\n## What is Azen?\n\nAzen is an **AI memory infrastructure** that helps developers:\n\n* Store meaningful user memory (preferences, facts, context)\n* Retrieve relevant memory using semantic search\n* Keep memory **encrypted at rest** by default\n* Build stateful AI systems without reinventing memory logic\n\nAzen is designed as backend infrastructure — simple APIs, strong defaults, and security-first architecture.\n\n---\n\n## Repository Structure\n\nThis is a **Turborepo-powered monorepo**.\n\n### Apps\n\n* `apps/api` – Core Azen API (memory, search, auth, usage tracking)\n* `apps/web` – Marketing website (landing, public pages)\n* `apps/console` – User dashboard (API keys, usage, memory management)\n\n### Packages\n\n* `packages/db` – Database schema, migrations, and shared DB utilities\n* `packages/auth` – Shared authentication configuration (Better Auth) used by API and Console\n\nAll packages and apps are written in **TypeScript**.\n\n---\n\n## Architecture Notes\n\n* Memory text is **encrypted at rest** in Postgres\n* Embeddings are stored separately in a vector database\n* Plaintext memory exists only in-memory during requests\n* Workers operate on ephemeral payloads, never DB plaintext\n\nSecurity is treated as a baseline, not an add-on.\n\n---\n\n## Status\n\nAzen is under active development.\n\n* APIs and SDKs are evolving\n*
