[See the issue for installing on Mac OS](https://github.com/BBC-News-Labs/datastringer/issues/9)\n\n\n### Was ist das?\n**Data stringer:** the exact equivalent of wire agencies' (AFP/AP/Reuters) local journalists who feed the organisation with news (called *wires*).\nExcept that here, that's a software living in a dataset, not in Iran, that's going to do the job.\n\n# Installation, configuration\n\nGetting started with Datastringer is easy:\n\n## Installation\n\nJust clone the repo and run the installation script located at its root. You only\nhave to do this once.\n\n```\n$ git clone http://github.com/BBC-News-Labs/datastringer.git \u0026\u0026 cd datastringer\n$ ./install.sh\n```\n\n`install.sh` will take care of installing the needed dependencies:\n* node\n* npm\n* postifx (needed to be able to send mail)\n\nIt will then proceed to fetch node modules dependencies.\n\nThe install script has been written and tested on Linux Ubuntu 14.04.\n\n## Docker image\n\nA `Dockerfile` is also available to build a datastringer Docker image:\n\n* Build with `docker build -t datastringer .`\n (This will expose port 3000 which should be mapped when running a container)\n* Run with `docker run -d -p 3000:3000 datastringer`\n* Visit `http://localhost:3000`\n\n\n## Introduction tour\n\n`node wizard.js` will start a small web server. Point towards\n[localhost:3000](localhost:3000) with your favourite web browser.\n\nWhen you are done with the configuration, you can stop the server by `CTRL-C`ing it.\n\n## *Voilà!*\n\nYou just set up your first datastringers with two basic examples. You will be\nnotified by email when alerts are triggered!\n[Here is what these examples do.](https://github.com/BBC-News-Labs/datastringer/blob/master/what-we-want.md)\n\n# Do more with Datastringer\n\nDatastringer is built on Javascript and Node.js, and we make sure it won't be\nhard for you to extend it.\n[Refer to the documentation](https://github.com/BBC-News-Labs/datastringer/wiki)\nto understand the architecture, rummage the examples and... build your own\nstringers!\n\n# Contributing\nBefore submitting pull-requests, please refer to [the road-map](https://github.com/BBC-News-Labs/datastringer/wiki/Roadmap). \n\n## About the license\n\nDatastringer is distributed under the MIT License, and developed by [Basile Simon](http://github.com/basilesimon), [Clément Geiger](http://github.com/Cgg), for [BBC News Labs](http://twitter.com/bbc_news_labs).
