By default, Confyglot tries to normalize the output configuration so that\nyou can work with the same JS object shape regardless of which configuration\nformat was used.\n\n\u003e💡 You can even\n\u003e[force](https://cbush.github.io/confyglot/interfaces/options.html#forbidmixedarrays)\n\u003eany configuration format to have homogenous arrays like TOML does.\n\n### Cascading Configurations Across Directories \n\nSubdirectories might want to override some of the properties of a parent\ndirectory's configuration. Let's call this \"cascading\". Confyglot can cascade\nfiles at each level in a directory tree up to a certain project root. You can\nalso provide a default configuration that other configurations can override.\n\n### Schema Validation\n\nYou can have Confyglot check every loaded configuration against a [JSON\nSchema](https://json-schema.org/) you provide.\n\n### TypeScript\n\nThe Confyglot class is generic, so you can specify the type of your\nconfiguration that you expect to load. This is most useful when combined with\nJSON schema validation.\n\n## Caveats\n\n### General\n\nConfyglot is currently in pre-1.0 development. Its API may change. Also, it is\ncurrently very aggressive with throwing exceptions on malformed user\nconfigurations.
