Originally developed by the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory\n\u003e as the internal communications medium of the Lisp Machine system, it\n\u003e has since come to be used to link a variety of machines around MIT\n\u003e and elsewhere.\n\u003e \n\u003e This memo describes both the hardware and the software protocols.
