In essence, Glue are the parts\nof the cluster stack that don't fit in anywhere else, and aren't big\nenough pieces or actively developed enough to qualify as their own\nprojects.\n\nCluster Glue has been managed as a separate Linux-HA sub-project since\nits 1.0 release, which coincided with the Heartbeat 2.99\nrelease. Previously, it was a part of the then-monolithic Heartbeat\nproject, and had no separate name.\n\n## Components\n\n### Local Resource Manager (LRM)\n\nThe Local Resource Manager is the interface between the Cluster\nResource Manager (Pacemaker) and the resource agents. It is itself not\ncluster aware, nor does it apply any policies. It simply processes\ncommands received from the Cluster Resource Manager, passes them to\nresource agents, and reports back success or failure. It particular,\nthe LRM may\n\n* start a resource;\n* stop a resource;\n* monitor a resource;\n* report a resource's status;\n* list all resource instances it currently controls, and their status.\n\n### STONITH\n\nA mechanism for node fencing.
