It benchmarks my specific use-case of short-horizon problems\n(500 arm pulls) with Bernoulli rewards (i.e., either there is a reward or there\nis not, with a given probability).\n\nAlgorithms are only --\u003e\n\n\u003c/details\u003e\n\n## Notes / Conclusions\n\n- I have probably made mistakes while translating the formulas from the papers\n  into code – KL-UCB, PHE, GIRO, etc. are doing much worse than I expected.\n\n- Keep in mind that the experiments were on the Bernoulli Bandit with a short\n  horizon only. Many of the algorithms also work on other kinds of bandits and\n  may rank differently there.\n\n- Greedy algorithms seem to do well on a short horizon in general, but fall\n  behind after a few hundred steps.\n\n- UCB-DT does very well; the tuning parameter can be adjusted for the length\n  of the horizon. More greedy settings (as used above) seem to do well over\n  short time horizons.\n\n- ϵ-Exploring Thompson Sampling seems to match or exceed Thompson Sampling\n  while being computationally much lighter.\n\n- Augmenting TS-UCB with the ϵ-Exploring policy speeds up TS-UCB by a lot, but\n  trades off a bit of performance.
