Sequential models\nare a special type of ordinal regression models, but additionally assume that the different categories can only be reached \nsequentially, i.e., one after another. Arguably this should make them often more appropriate to use for some biological and medical applications than \nconventional ordinal models where such a sequential response mechanism can be assumed.\n\nYou can find the case study [here](https://dirmeier.github.io/rstansequential/index.html). It uses \n[rstan](https://github.com/stan-dev/rstan) for data analysis.\n\n## Acknowledgements\n\nThanks to Jana Linnik for introducing me to sequential regression models and for making me aware that many biological data sets can be more appropriately modelled \nusing a sequential response mechanism.\n\n## Installation\n \nThe relevant code that is used in this case study is implemented as an R-package.
