The keyboard shortcuts and automatic\r\nsyllable separation tools make it a very fast tool.\r\n\r\n.. image:: http://i.imgur.com/CLDXWRd.gif\r\n\r\n.. _Blender: https://www.blender.org/\r\n\r\nInstallation\r\n============\r\n\r\n1. Download the repository.\r\n2. Open Blender.\r\n3. Go to File \u003e User Preferences \u003e Addons\r\n4. Click \"Install From File\" and navigate to the downloaded zip file and\r\n install.\r\n5. Check the box next to \"Subsimport\"\r\n\r\nUse the correct release for your Blender version. Add-ons for Blender 2.80 and above will not work for Blender 2.79\r\n\r\nUsage\r\n=====\r\n\r\nA `video tutorial`_ is available.\r\n\r\nThe user interface is located to the right side of the video sequencer.\r\n\r\n.. image:: http://i.imgur.com/nNchW3Z.png\r\n\r\n.. _video tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-jis3S6dxU\r\n\r\nSubtitle Edit Channel\r\n---------------------\r\n\r\n.. image:: http://i.imgur.com/fgXDH1C.png\r\n\r\nThe sequencer channel where The addon will have effect. Keyboard\r\nshortcuts, duration changing, exporting, syllabifying, splitting, and\r\ncombining subtitles all depends on this value.\r\n\r\nImporting, splitting, and combining subtitles will automatically adjust\r\nthe subtitle edit channel.\r\n\r\nSubtitle Font Size\r\n------------------\r\n\r\n.. image:: http://i.imgur.com/PNFAW5x.png\r\n\r\nThe font size that will be applied to imported strips. You may change\r\nthis value and refresh using the button to the right. (Changes only\r\napplied to the Subtitle Edit Channel)\r\n\r\n.. image:: http://i.imgur.com/sC6xx0n.gif\r\n\r\nImporting\r\n---------\r\n\r\n.. image:: http://i.imgur.com/x93jx4s.png\r\n\r\n.. image:: http://i.imgur.com/8MM08X5.gif\r\n\r\n3 filetypes may be imported with this addon: .txt, .lrc, and .srt files.\r\n\r\n.txt files do not contain any timing info. The text is imported so that\r\neach line of the text file becomes a strip in the sequencer. It is\r\nrecommended that each line of text be no longer than **62** characters\r\nlong.\r\n\r\n.lrc files are used with programs like MiniLyrics_ for displaying\r\nsubtitles with music.\r\n\r\n.. _MiniLyrics: http://www.crintsoft.com/\r\n\r\n.srt files are the standard subtitle filetype for movies. They work well\r\nwith the VLC_ media player.\r\n\r\n.. _VLC: https://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html\r\n\r\nSubsimport also supports \"Enhanced\" .srt and .lrc files. These are\r\nspecial subtitles that highlight parts of the subtitles at a time.\r\n\r\nOn import, AV sync, scrubbing, and frame drop will be enabled.\r\n\r\nIt is recommended that if you're making lyrics for songs that you\r\nincrease the scene FPS to 100 or even 1000 frames per second before\r\nimporting. The reason is that .srt files support time data down to the\r\nmillisecond, but strips must conform to the scene's FPS value. If a low\r\nFPS is used, then the minimum timing difference will be limited by the\r\nscene FPS.\r\n\r\nFurthermore, if you attempt to import strips and one or more strips has\r\na duration that is less than 1 / the scene fps, you will create an\r\nerror.\r\n\r\nSubimport does not allow any subtitles to overlap times and will\r\nautomatically remove overlaps on import.\r\n\r\n.. _Bligify's: https://github.com/doakey3/Bligify\r\n\r\nDur x 2 and Dur / 2\r\n-------------------\r\n\r\n.. image:: http://i.imgur.com/BmEDQiH.png\r\n\r\n.. image:: http://i.imgur.com/ZywhLfB.gif\r\n\r\nDoubles or halfs the duration of the strips in the\r\n\"Subtitle Edit Channel\".\r\n\r\nThese buttons allow you to edit subtitles with a song playing at 50%\r\nspeed, then convert the subtitles to normal speed.\r\n\r\nWhen making subtitles for music, I like to use Audacity_ to slow the\r\nmusic down by 50% and export it as a .wav file. I then use this in\r\nBlender for matching the lyrics to the song.\r\n\r\n.. _Audacity: http://www.audacityteam.org/\r\n\r\nExporting\r\n---------\r\n\r\n.. image:: http://i.imgur.com/MzNk9S6.png\r\n\r\nExport the subtitles from the \"Subtitle Edit Channel\" as either .lrc\r\nor .srt file.\r\n\r\nSyllabify\r\n---------\r\n\r\n.. image:: http://i.imgur.com/sjKYWt8.png\r\n\r\nAfter subtitles have been imported, you can separate words by syllables.\r\nBefore splitting the syllables, you should create a syllabification\r\ndictionary for your subtitles that defines how each word should be\r\nbroken up.\r\n\r\nSubsimport has a dictionary of words and an algorithm for splitting\r\nwords. Both are enabled by default. The algorithm's accuracy depends\r\non which language is set.\r\n\r\nAfter clicking the \"Syllabify\" button, you'll create a .txt file\r\ncontaining all of the words of the song. Subsimport will try to split\r\nthem up into separate syllables. You should read through the .txt file\r\nand make any corrections as necessary before you split your words.\r\n\r\nAfter syllabifying words, you may save your dictionary to the default\r\ndictionary that Subsimport uses. This way, any words you may have needed\r\nto edit will be correctly syllabified the next time Subsimport\r\nencounters them.\r\n\r\nSplit\r\n-----\r\n\r\n.. image:: http://i.imgur.com/XKJfMb3.png\r\n\r\n.. image:: http://i.imgur.com/9gAon9U.gif\r\n\r\nAfter defining how words should be separated, you can split them apart\r\nand create individually colored text strips that will highlight\r\nsequentially as your audio plays. You can set the timing of each\r\nsyllable in the song.\r\n\r\nText strip color can be changed with the highlight property and the\r\nrefresh button to the right.\r\n\r\nCombine\r\n-------\r\n\r\n.. image:: http://i.imgur.com/4LJ3fQe.png\r\n\r\n.. image:: http://i.imgur.com/5lUFAt8.gif\r\n\r\nAfter synchronizing the syllables to the music, you can recombine\r\nthe strips into enhanced strips prior to exporting the subtitles.\r\n\r\nThe method used for combining the strips (ESRT or ELRC) depends on\r\nwhat kind of subtitles you would like to export.\r\n\r\nKeyboard Shortcuts\r\n------------------\r\n\r\nMake sure the \"Subtitle Edit Channel\" property is set to the channel\r\nwhere your subtitle strips have been imported.\r\n\r\nNote that splitted strips are set to not respond to these 4 shortcuts\r\nif it means going outside the bounds of their base strips.\r\n\r\n:D:\r\n Set the start of a text strip.\r\n\r\n:F:\r\n Set the end of a text strip.\r\n\r\n:S:\r\n (like pressing F, then D rapidly)\r\n\r\n:W:\r\n (like pressing D, then F rapidly)\r\n\r\n.. image:: http://i.imgur.com/D38fvvU.gif\r\n\r\n:Z:\r\n Send top strips to the end of the base strip.
