doc/.defaults.rst\n\nIntro\n------\nSitefile is a local website server for (project) documentation or notebooks.\nIt is targetted at users/authors of plain-text, file-based content. It aims to\nadd hypertext capabilities to documents of the literal kind, and any other\ninterpreted language.\n\n.. TODO get some screenshots here, and point to the rest of the docs.\n\nIt at as of 0.0.5-dev supports a couple of markup formats, a diagramming\nlanguages, has some initial database support and other Node.JS native languages.\n\nThe main documentation is written in reStructuredText format for the Python\nDocutils publisher. But as many other formats are available as `routers` can be\nwritten for, currently: Markdown, Stylus, SASS/SCSS, Coffee Script, Graphviz and\nothers.\n\n\n\nQuickstart\n----------\nHave a ``Sitefile.yaml`` or ``.json`` and fire up `sitefile` from this directory.\n\nE.g. to serve a simple little site::\n\n  sitefile: 0.0.5-dev\n  routes:\n    _my_markdown_routes: md:**/*.md\n    _my_stylus_routes: styl:**/*.styl\n    media: static:media/\n    ChangeLog: du.rst2html:ChangeLog.rst\n\n\nThat's it! This expands to routes for all ``*.md`` and ``*.styl`` files, serves\nanything in media at ``/media/``, and has another static URL path that renders\nthe changelog with Docutils.\n\nThe idea is to leave as much as the aspects of the resources to some\nin-filesystem object or other local service, wether a document, metadatafile or\ndatabase. That said the ``Sitefile.yml`` can also hold options, and currently\ncat gets pretty crammed. But future plans include making it optional, and\nparameterize simple Sitefile sessions through command line arguments.\n\nThe ``Sitefile.yaml`` with `node-sitefile` and the list of routers in\n``lib/sitefile/routers`` for now provides the best starting point for support.\n\nBehind the scenes better documentation and testing is being setup.
