EKG Maturity\n\nThis repository contains the [Markdown](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Markdown)\nbased source documents of EKG Maturity, the Maturity Model for the EKG.\n\n![quadrant](customer-assets/quadrant.jpg)\n\n## Website\n\nThe content in this repository is used to generate a website ([https://maturity.ekgf.org](https://maturity.ekgf.org))\nusing the [MkDocs](https://squidfunk.github.io/mkdocs-material/) tool.\nAll content is in Markdown format and can be found in the [./docs](./docs) \nor [./docs-fragments](./docs-fragments) directories.\n\n## (\"EDMA\")\n\nFor members of the [EKGF](https://www.ekgf.org) there are a number of Slack channels:\n\n- [#ekg-maturity-general](https://ekgf.slack.com/archives/C016DU529DE)\n- \"raw\" Markdown source documents (see Markdown below for an explanation) can be\nfound in the [/docs](docs) directory and more specifically in the\n[/docs-fragments](docs-fragments) directory.\n\n## Markdown\n\nMarkdown is a lightweight markup language for creating formatted text using a plain-text editor.\n\nFor a quick overview of what you need to understand of Markdown look at this [\"Markdown cheat sheet\"](https://www.markdownguide.org/cheat-sheet/).\n\n## Where is this published?\n\nFrom this git repository we generate a PDF document.\nTwo in fact: the \"editors-version\" which contains annotations and \"todo's\" \nand the \"release-version\" without those annotations.\n\nYou can find the published version\nat [https://ekgf.org/maturitymodel](https://ekgf.org/maturitymodel).\n\n!!! note\n\n    Please note that we're in the process of generating a website for the\n    maturity model here: [https://maturity-model.ekgf.org](https://maturity-model.ekgf.org)\n\nFor members of the EKGF there's also a Slack channel called\n[#ekg-mm-latest](https://ekgf.slack.com/archives/C01TEL6GWEN)\nwhere both PDFs are published every time someone pushes\na change into this repository.\n\n!!! note\n\n    Soon we'll also be publishing this content as HTML.\n\n## Github\n\nThis repository resides on GitHub as https://github.com/EKGF/ekg-maturity.\n\n### How to clone?\n\nFor advanced users who often contribute to this repository, it's best to\ncreate a so-called `git clone` of this git repository on the local drive which\nallows any given LaTeX editor to be used locally to create new content.\n\nFirst, install git and/or GitHub Desktop.\n\nHow to create a clone of the GitHub repo:\n\n```shell\ncd ~ # go to your home directory or the directory where you want your git clones to be\ngit clone https://github.com/EKGF/ekg-maturity\ncd ekg-maturity\nmake install\n```\n\n## Editors\n\nAny text editor will do. Edit the `.md` files in this repository, they're just\nASCII files.\n\n### IntelliJ Idea or CLion\n\n* IntelliJ has by far the best \"git merge\" options of any tool out there,\n  if you're planning to write a lot of content then it makes sense to\n  install the \"community edition\" (free) and get used to IntelliJ.\n\n## Install components\n\nIf you want to run the website on your local\nmachine to see your content before committing\nit to GitHub you can do so by first installing\nall the components around \"MkDocs\" which is a\nPython program with a lot of sub-components.\n\nYou can install this as follows:\n\n```shell\nmake docs-install\n```\n\nThe above command assumes you're doing this\non a MacOS machine. It has not been tested\non Windows or Linux (but it may work).\n\n## Build steps\n\nTo construct the website from all the various Markdown documents in this repository we use\nthe `mkdocs` command which can be installed by executing `make docs-install` from the\nroot directory of your git clone.\n\nThen building the static HTML website can be done with this command:\n```shell\nmake docs-build\n```\n\nThen serving the static HTML website locally on your own computer:\n```shell\nmake docs-serve\n```\n\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fekgf%2Fekg-maturity","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Fekgf%2Fekg-maturity","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fekgf%2Fekg-maturity/lists"}
