It communicates with the device via the Navien cloud API and establishes a local MQTT connection for real-time updates.\n\n## Key Features\n\n*   **Full Control**: Set target temperature, change operation modes, and toggle power.\n*   **Real-time Monitoring**: View current water temperature, power consumption, and device status.\n*   **Energy Management**: Track energy usage and efficiency.\n*   **Safety Alerts**: Monitor for errors, leaks, and system warnings.\n*   **Scheduling**: Advanced reservation system for automated mode/temperature changes.\n\n## Installation\n\n### HACS (Recommended)\n1.  Open HACS in Home Assistant.\n2.  Go to **Integrations** \u003e **⋮** \u003e **Custom repositories**.\n3.  Add `https://github.com/eman/ha_nwp500` with category **Integration**.\n4.  Search for \"Navien NWP500\" and install.\n5.  Restart Home Assistant.\n\n### Manual Installation\n1.  Clone this repository.\n2.  Copy `custom_components/nwp500` to your `config/custom_components/` directory.\n3.  Restart Home Assistant.\n\n## Configuration\n\n1.  Go to **Settings** \u003e **Devices \u0026 Services**.\n2.  Click **Add Integration** and search for \"Navien NWP500\".\n3.  Enter your **NaviLink** email and password.\n4.  The integration will discover your devices and create entities.\n\n## Usage Guide\n\n### Operation Modes\nThe integration maps the device's modes to Home Assistant's water heater operation modes:\n\n*   **Heat Pump** (`heat_pump`): Uses only the heat pump. Most efficient.\n*   **Energy Saver** (`eco`): Hybrid mode balancing efficiency and recovery time.\n*   **High Demand** (`high_demand`): Uses heat pump and electric elements for fastest recovery.\n*   **Electric** (`electric`): Uses only electric elements.\n\n### Sensors \u0026 Entities\nTo keep your system clean, **most advanced sensors are disabled by default**.\n\n**Enabled by Default:**\n*   Water Heater entity (Control)\n*   Tank \u0026 DHW Temperatures\n*   Current Power \u0026 Energy Status\n*   Error Codes \u0026 Basic Status\n\n**Available to Enable:**\n*   **Diagnostics**: Compressor temps, fan RPM, flow rates, refrigerant pressures.\n*   **Internal Status**: EEV steps, mixing rates, specific component status.\n*   **Safety**: Leak detection, freeze protection, scald warnings.\n\nTo enable these, go to the device page in Home Assistant, look for \"Disabled\" entities, and enable the ones you need.\n\n### Reservation Scheduling\nYou can program the water heater to change modes or temperatures at specific times using the `nwp500.set_reservation` service.\n\n**Example: Weekday Morning Boost**\nSet the heater to \"High Demand\" at 140°F every weekday morning at 6:30 AM.\n\n```yaml\nservice: nwp500.set_reservation\ntarget:\n  device_id: your_device_id\ndata:\n  enabled: true\n  days:\n    - Monday\n    - Tuesday\n    - Wednesday\n    - Thursday\n    - Friday\n  hour: 6\n  minute: 30\n  mode: high_demand\n  temperature: 140\n```\n\n## Automation Examples\n\nHere are some ways to automate your water heater:\n\n### 1. Solar Energy Dump\nMaximize self-consumption by overheating the water when you have excess solar power.\n\n```yaml\nalias: \"Water Heater - Solar Boost\"\ntrigger:\n  - platform: numeric_state\n    entity_id: sensor.solar_export_power\n    above: 1000 # Watts\naction:\n  - service: water_heater.set_operation_mode\n    target:\n      entity_id: water_heater.navien_nwp500\n    data:\n      operation_mode: \"high_demand\"\n  - service: water_heater.set_temperature\n    target:\n      entity_id: water_heater.navien_nwp500\n    data:\n      temperature: 140\n```\n\n### 2. Leak Detection Alert\nNotify your phone immediately if the water heater detects a leak.\n*Note: Ensure `binary_sensor.water_leak_detected` is enabled.*\n\n```yaml\nalias: \"Water Heater - Leak Alert\"\ntrigger:\n  - platform: state\n    entity_id: binary_sensor.navien_nwp500_water_leak_detected\n    to: \"on\"\naction:\n  - service: notify.mobile_app_phone\n    data:\n      message: \"CRITICAL: Water leak detected at Water Heater!\"\n      data:\n        push:\n          sound:\n            name: default\n            critical: 1\n            volume: 1.0\n```\n\n### 3. Vacation Mode\nAutomatically set the water heater to a low energy state when you leave home.\n\n```yaml\nalias: \"Water Heater - Away Mode\"\ntrigger:\n  - platform: state\n    entity_id: group.family\n    to: \"not_home\"\naction:\n  - service: water_heater.set_operation_mode\n    target:\n      entity_id: water_heater.navien_nwp500\n    data:\n      operation_mode: \"eco\" # or \"off\"\n```\n\n## Library Version\nThis integration uses **nwp500-python v7.4.10**.\nFor version history, see [CHANGELOG.md](CHANGELOG.md#library-dependency-nwp500-python).\n\n## License\nThis integration is released under the MIT License.\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Feman%2Fha_nwp500","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Feman%2Fha_nwp500","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Feman%2Fha_nwp500/lists"}
