nomnomd = nomnoml + md\n\n**nomnomd** processes Markdown with included or referenced [nomnoml] diagrams and produces HTML.\n\nI threw together **nomnomd** to write documentation for a project where I wanted to keep all docs in the code repo and depend on as few external tools as possible.\n\nEach generated HTML file is self-contained.\n\n## Markdown extensions\n\n### Embedded [nomnoml] diagrams\n\nBy using the `nomnoml` fence code, a diagram can be written directly in a code block:\n\n~~~markdown\n```nomnoml\n[A] -\u003e [B]\n```\n~~~\n\n**nomnoml** files (ending in `.noml` or `.nomnoml`) can be referenced as images:\n\n```markdown\n![Class Diagram](./classes.noml)\n```\n\nIn both cases, the generated SVG is embedded in the resulting HTML file.\nThe generated HTML adds a CSS-based zoom function, to view detailed diagrams up close.\n\n### Markdown file links, listings and includes\n\nYou can link to other Markdown files:\n\n```markdown\n[A link][linked.md]\n```\n\n**nomnomd** overloads the Markdown image syntax to mean \"in place\" or \"here\".\nThis allows for creating file lists\n\n```markdown\n![](./docs)\n```\n\nand including files:\n\n```markdown\n![Changelist](changelist.md)\n```\n\nNote that only Markdown (.md) files are listed and included.\n\nList entries can be decorated by entering a [pupa] template as `alt` text, like this:\n\n```markdown\n![- {title}](./docs)\n```\n\nThe template will use data from the JSON frontmatter of each listed file.\n\n### Emojis\n\nAll [GitHub emojis](https://github.com/ikatyang/emoji-cheat-sheet/blob/master/README.md) should work. :white_check_mark:\n\n## Themes\n\n[sheetleeten] theme files can be used to override the default theme:\n\n```shell\n$ npx @erkkah/nomnomd --theme coffee.css docs.md\n```\n\nCreating themes is easy, basically just setting four colors and two fonts.\n\nSyntax highlighting is provided by [highlight.js]. The default theme can be changed by specifying a theme name:\n\n```shell\n$ npx @erkkah/nomnomd --hltheme rainbow docs.md\n```\n\n## Working with **nomnomd**\n\n```\nUsage:\n    nomnomd [options] \u003cfiles...\u003e\n\n    Options:\n        [--help]\n        [--out DIR]\n        [--theme FILE]\n        [--hltheme \u003chljs-theme\u003e]\n        [--serve \u003cport\u003e]\n        [--recursive|-r]\n```\n\nSimply running `nomnomd` with a set of Markdown files generates the resulting HTML files in the `build` output folder.\n\nIf recursive mode is turned on, all directories passed `nomnomd` will be traversed, and all `.md` files found will be processed.\n\nDuring development, `nomnomd` can be run with the `--serve` flag to launch a little watching, hot-reloading development server on the given port.
