Audio is routed in/out from outisde Pure Data using Jack, JackPilot, Blackhole, or similar. Pd takes care of the communication between computers, and your audio can be generated/listened in any other application (Pd, Max, daws, etc). \n\nFirst thing to do is edit the `setup.txt` text with the previously agreed upon *call-name* and *server*. Eg: \n\n```\n#;\n#;\n# ONE CALL (2 users);\n#;\n#;\nmake quacker 1;\nquacker call-name marcfede;\nquacker server foo.ucsd.edu;\nquacker block 0;\nquacker fifo 20;\nquacker insig 1 2;\nquacker outsig 1 2;\n``` \nNote that the `#` symbol acts as a comment and the semicolons are needed for Pd to load the file correctly.\n\n## GUI\n\n[quacker] can be run with or without gui.\n\n### Without gui: \n\non macos: double-click on the `run` (shell script). A terminal window will pop-up and quacktrip will be running. Hit `ctrl+C` to quit. \n\non unix systems: \n```\ncd quacker\n./run \n```\nAlternatively, you can run the script with flags to pass to Pd. See `pd -help` for more flags. This one here is particularly useful, since it is easy to route quacktrip with jack:\n```\n./run -jack\n```\n\n### With gui\n\nOn any platform, you should be able to double-click on the `quaker.pd` file. You need to have Pd version \u003e= 0.51 for everything to work.\n\n## Acknowledgements\n\nThanks to \n- Miller Puckette for making quacktrip,\n- the Pure Data community,\n- Federico Ragessi and Gustavo Alcaráz for very useful testing, and\n- Marc Ainger, Ann Stimson and Jacob from the Sonic Arts Lab at Ohio State University for the many performances and rehearsals\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Ffdch%2Fquaker","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Ffdch%2Fquaker","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Ffdch%2Fquaker/lists"}
