First you need to install [Go 1.16](https://golang.org/) or later, a C compiler, and sqlite.\n2. Edit `config.toml` (the file has comments to guide you)\n3. Compile with `go build` and run with `./event-registration`\n\nThe app is now available at http://localhost:3000/\n\n## Setup with docker\n\n1. First you need to install Docker\n2. Edit `config.toml` (the file has comments to guide you)\n3. Build the docker image with `docker build -t events .`\n4. Run the container with: `docker run -it -p 3000:3000 --rm --name events-container events`\n\nThe app is now available at http://localhost:3000/\n\n**Note:** The created docker container should not be used in production, as\nit will lose all state when it is restarted. This can be prevented with \n[docker volumes](https://docs.docker.com/storage/volumes/) or \n[docker bind mounts](https://docs.docker.com/storage/bind-mounts/).\n\n## How it works\n\nAfter you deployed the app you can [create a QR Code](https://qr-creator.com/url.php)\nto the domain where it is running. Attendees of the event scan that code and\nregister. Once they are registered, a cookie is set, which will only expire\nafter three days or if the user is deleted from the database. This means all\ncookies can be invalidated by deleting the sqlite database file.\n\nIn case two persons need to login via the same phone, they can use the `/reset`\nworkaround. The `/reset` path deletes the cookie on the device. So the first\nperson can register, reset their cookie and than hand over the device to the\nnext person. \n\nFor you, the event host, and your colleagues, there is a admin page available under\n`/admin`. From there you can export all contacts as JSON or CSV(Excel). The\nadmin dashboard also shows the last 10 registered persons which means your\ncolleagues at the entrance don't have to touch attendees phones and can verify\nregistrations from a save distance on their own devices.\n\n![Screenshot](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/21206831/132955534-bcb03c1f-82db-4377-9ce5-1386dfa4dd2a.png)\n\n## Licence\n\nEverything in this repository is under the MIT license, except for the\n`flyout` template folder.
