Installation\n\n### Install from PyPI\n\nThe easiest way to get started is to simple install the library like so:\n```\n$ pip install tinycards\n```\n\n### Install from source\nIf you want to modify the library's source code and try out your changes locally, you might want to consider building from source which works like follows:\n\n1. Make sure Python with [Setuptools](https://pypi.python.org/pypi/setuptools) is installed.\n2. Bump the version in `setup.py`.\n2. Push a new tag to GitHub:\n    1. `git tag 0.01`\n    1. `git push origin 0.01`\n3. The [Travis build](https://travis-ci.org/floscha/tinycards-python-api) will deploy the release to [PyPI](https://pypi.org/project/tinycards/). \n\n## Development\n\n### Local setup\n\n- Install `virtualenv` and create a so-called \"virtual\", dedicated environment for the `tinycards-python-api` project:\n\n    ```console\n    $ pip install -U virtualenv\n    $ cd /path/to/tinycards-python-api\n    $ virtualenv .\n    $ source bin/activate\n    (tinycards-python-api) $\n    ```\n\n- Install dependencies within the virtual environment:\n\n    ```console\n    (tinycards-python-api) $ pip install -e .\n    (tinycards-python-api) $ pip install -r test-requirements.txt\n    ```\n\n- Develop and test at will.\n\n- Leave the `virtualenv`:\n\n    ```console\n    (tinycards-python-api) $ deactivate\n    $\n    ```\n\n### Run Tests\n\n1. In order to run the _integration_ tests, you need to set the enviroment variables `TINYCARDS_IDENTIFIER` and `TINYCARDS_PASSWORD`.\n   [`direnv`](https://direnv.net/) may be useful to set these automatically \u0026 permanently:\n\n    ```console\n    $ touch .envrc\n    $ echo \"export TINYCARDS_IDENTIFIER=\u003cid\u003e\" \u003e\u003e .envrc\n    $ echo \"export TINYCARDS_PASSWORD=\u003cpass\u003e\" \u003e\u003e .envrc\n    $ direnv allow\n    direnv: loading .envrc\n    direnv: export +TINYCARDS_IDENTIFIER +TINYCARDS_PASSWORD\n    ```\n\n2. Then, from the project's root directory:\n\n    1. run the unit tests:\n\n        ```console\n        $ pytest --ignore tests/client_test.py --ignore tests/integration_test.py --cov tinycards\n        ```\n\n    2. run all tests:\n       **WARNING**: the integration tests **DELETE** all the decks in the account used to test. Please ensure you either are using a dedicated test account, or do not care about losing your existing decks.\n\n        ```console\n        $ pytest --cov tinycards\n        ```\n\n3.
