Configure Volumio Audio Output\n\n1. Go to **Volumio Settings \u003e Playback Options**\n2. Enable **I2S DAC** and select **R-PI DAC** as DAC Model\n3. Under **Volume Options**, set **Mixer Type** to **None**\n4. Click **Save** and **Reboot**\n\n### 2. Go to **Volumio Settings \u003e Plugins \u003e Installed Plugins**\n2. Enable **ES9018K2M DAC Control**\n\n## Common Tasks\n\n### Get Volume Slider Working\n\nIf you don't see a volume slider:\n\n1. Open plugin settings\n2. Ensure **Use External Volume Device** is Off\n3. Set **Volume Mode** to \"Hardware (Override)\"\n4. Save - slider should appear immediately\n\n### Protect Speakers on Startup\n\nWhen using Hardware mode with amp that powers on at full volume:\n\n**Option 1: Start Muted**\n- Enable **Start Muted** in Volume Control section\n- DAC starts muted, use volume slider to unmute\n- If **Remember Last Volume** also enabled, slider shows remembered level\n\n**Option 2: Safe Startup Volume**\n- Enable **Safe Startup Volume**\n- Set **Safe Startup Level** (e.g. 25%)\n- Volume capped to this level if system volume exceeds it\n\n**Option 3: Remember Last Volume**\n- Enable **Remember Last Volume**\n- Restores your last volume setting on restart\n- Overrides safe startup if enabled\n\n### Stop Pops and Clicks\n\n**During seeks:**\n- Increase **Seek Mute Duration** to 200-300ms\n\n**During play/pause:**\n- Enable **Graceful Play/Pause/Stop**\n- Increase **Graceful Ramp Steps** to 4 or 5\n\n**During volume changes:**\n- Enable **Graceful Volume Changes**\n\n### Adjust Sound Signature\n\n- **FIR Filter**: Try \"Minimum Phase\" for less pre-ringing\n- **DPLL**: Higher values = more jitter reduction (start with 5 for I2S)\n\n### Use with External Volume Control\n\nFor setups with Allo Relay Attenuator, external pre-amp, or receiver:\n\n1. Open plugin settings\n2. Enable **Use External Volume Device** toggle\n3.
