This repository holds the code and script\nfor the [Symfony5 Tutorials](https://symfonycasts.com/tracks/symfony) on SymfonyCasts.\n\n## Setup\n\nIf you've just downloaded the code, congratulations!!\n\nTo get it working, follow these steps:\n\n**Download Composer dependencies**\n\nMake sure you have [Composer installed](https://getcomposer.org/download/)\nand then run:\n\n```\ncomposer install\n```\n\nYou may alternatively need to run `php composer.phar install`, depending\non how you installed Composer.\n\n**Database Setup**\n\nThe code comes with a `docker-compose.yaml` file and we recommend using\nDocker to boot a database container. You will still have PHP installed\nlocally, but you'll connect to a database inside Docker. This is optional,\nbut I think you'll love it!\n\nFirst, make sure you have [Docker installed](https://docs.docker.com/get-docker/)\nand running. To start the container, run:\n\n```\ndocker-compose up -d\n```\n\nNext, build the database and execute the migrations with:\n\n```\n# \"symfony console\" is equivalent to \"bin/console\"\n# but its aware of your database container\nsymfony console doctrine:database:create\nsymfony console doctrine:migrations:migrate\nsymfony console doctrine:fixtures:load\n```\n\n(If you get an error about \"MySQL server has gone away\", just wait\na few seconds and try again - the container is probably still booting).\n\nIf you do *not* want to use Docker, just make sure to start your own\ndatabase server and update the `DATABASE_URL` environment variable in\n`.env` or `.env.local` before running the commands above.\n\n**Start the Symfony web server**\n\nYou can use Nginx or Apache, but Symfony's local web server\nworks even better.\n\nTo install the Symfony local web server, follow\n\"Downloading the Symfony client\" instructions found\nhere: https://symfony.com/download - you only need to do this\nonce on your system.\n\nThen, to start the web server, open a terminal, move into the\nproject, and run:\n\n```\nsymfony serve\n```\n\n(If this is your first time using this command, you may see an\nerror that you need to run `symfony server:ca:install` first).\n\nNow check out the site at `https://localhost:8000`\n\nHave fun!\n\n**Optional: Webpack Encore Assets**\n\nThis app uses Webpack Encore for the CSS, JS and image files. But\nto keep life simple, the final, built assets are already inside the\nproject. So... you don't need to do anything to get thing set up!\n\nIf you *do* want to build the Webpack Encore assets manually, you\ntotally can! Make sure you have [yarn](https://yarnpkg.com/lang/en/)\ninstalled and then run:\n\n```\nyarn install\nyarn encore dev --watch\n```\n\n## Have Ideas, Feedback or an Issue?\n\nIf you have suggestions or questions, please feel free to\nopen an issue on this repository or comment on the course\nitself. We're watching both :).\n\n## Magic\n\nSandra's seen a leprechaun,\nEddie touched a troll,\nLaurie danced with witches once,\nCharlie found some goblins' gold.\nDonald heard a mermaid sing,\nSusy spied an elf,\nBut all the magic I have known\nI've had to make myself.\n\nShel Silverstein\n\n## Thanks!\n\nAnd as always, thanks so much for your support and letting\nus do what we love!\n\n\u003c3 Your friends at SymfonyCasts\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fgermdz%2Factivos","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Fgermdz%2Factivos","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fgermdz%2Factivos/lists"}
