runs.\n\n![Screenshot](./docs/screenshot.png)\n\n## Inputs\n\n### `token`\n\nGitHub API token.\n\n### `workflowId`\n\nWorkflow ID. You can use the workflow file's name.\n\n### `pullRequest` (optional)\n\nPull request number. Can be optionally used when the action cannot find the PR number correctly.\n\n## Outputs\n\n### `stats`\n\nDetailed workflow run statistics.\n\n## Example usage\n\n\u003e All examples assume you already have a `build.yml` in `.github/workflows/` that is the workflow you'd like to get stats for.\n\n1. Using the [`workflow_dispatch`](https://docs.github.com/en/actions/reference/events-that-trigger-workflows#workflow_dispatch) event (**[Recommended](https://securitylab.github.com/research/github-actions-preventing-pwn-requests/)**). This is recommended for projects that accept external contributions from forks.\n\n    1. Include a final step under `jobs.\u003cjob-id\u003e.steps` in `.github/workflows/build.yml`.\n\n        ```yaml\n        steps:\n          - name: Trigger build stats action\n            uses: peter-evans/repository-dispatch@v1\n            with:\n              token: ${{ secrets.TOKEN }} # Use a custom personal access token.\n              event-type: trigger-stats\n              client-payload: '{\"pull_request\": {\"number\": \"${{ github.event.number }}\"}}'\n        ```\n        This will manually trigger the stats workflow.\n\n        **ℹ️ Note for open-source projects that accept PRs from external forks** – for this `workflow_dispatch` to work, you will need to turn on _\"Run workflows from fork pull requests\"_ and _\"Send secrets to workflows from fork pull requests\"_ in your repository's settings.\n\n    2. Create a separate workflow, say `.github/workflows/build-stats.yml` that will listen to the `trigger-stats` event from the above step.\n\n        ```yaml\n        name: Workflow run stats\n\n        on:\n          repository_dispatch:\n            types: [trigger-stats]\n\n        jobs:\n            post-stats:\n              runs-on: ubuntu-latest\n              steps:\n                - name: Post stats\n                  uses: 'getoslash/github-build-stats-action@latest'\n                  with:\n                    token: ${{ secrets.GITHUB_TOKEN }}\n                    workflowId: build.yml\n        ```\n\n2. Using the [`workflow_run`](https://docs.github.com/en/actions/reference/events-that-trigger-workflows#workflow_run) event.
