It combines content with template files to generate\nHTML files. This allows one to separate the content from the layout and\nreuse the layout for many content files.\n\nApart from this basic functionality, webgen offers many features that\nmakes authoring websites easier:\n\n* Multiple markup languages to choose from for writing HTML and CSS\n  files (Markdown, Textile, RDoc, Haml, Sass, ...)\n\n* Automatic generation of menus, breadcrumb trails, ... and more!\n\n* Partial website regeneration (only modified items get re-generated)\n  which reduces website generation time enormously\n\n* Self-contained website (all generated links are relative, so one can\n  view the website *without a web server*)\n\n* Easily extendable (all major components can be extended with new\n  functionality or existing functionality can be replaced)\n\n* No need to know the Ruby language for basic websites\n\nThe main documentation lives at \u003chttp://webgen.gettalong.org/documentation/\u003e.\n\n\n## Installation\n\nwebgen is written in Ruby, so you need the Ruby interpreter on your\nsystem.
