plan(tests=1)\n\n  ok(42 \u003e 10, \"Math still works\")\n```\n\n# DESCRIPTION\n\nThis module tries to replicate the Test::Simple API. It produces output\nin the TAP protocol.\n\n# INTERFACE\n\n## plan\n\nDeclares the plan for the tests. While setting the number of tests\nmanually might seem cumbersome, it comes in handy when the test gets in\nan inconsistent state and passes too more or less tests than intended.\n\n``` \n  plan(tests=2)\n\n  ok(True)\n  ok(True)\n```\n\n## ok\n\n**ok** is the main function of this module. It works as an assertion.\n\n``` \n  ok(10 \u003e 1)\n  ok(\"Test\")\n  ok(not None, \"This should pass\")\n\n  ok(False, \"This should fail\")\n```\n\n## done\\_testing\n\n**done\\_testing** can be placed at the bottom of your test script. The\ntestsimple module keeps track of the tests you run, so it can generate\nthe plan for you automatically. This is useful if you're lazy or if your\ntest is very dynamic.\n\n``` \n  import random\n  from testsimple import *\n\n  for _ in range(random.randint(1, 20)):\n    ok(True)\n\n  done_testing()\n```\n\n## diag\n\nProduces a diagnostic output. This is usually hidden during test runs,\nbut the test harness can optionally show it to the user. This\ninformation can be useful if the tests are failing and you want to get\ndetails.\n\n``` \n  diag(\"Testing fetch_user with\", username)\n```\n\n# RUNNING THE TESTS\n\nYou can run the tests using any TAP-compatible test harness. An easy one\nto use is *Prove*. All you need to do is put each test script in a\nfolder called *t*. After that, if you run the *prove* command in the\nroot directory of the project, it will run each test and print the\nresults. You can pass flags and configure the behaviour, such as running\ntests in parallel or printing diagnostic output.\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fgkbrk%2Ftestsimple-py","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Fgkbrk%2Ftestsimple-py","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fgkbrk%2Ftestsimple-py/lists"}
