Using custom\nELF, DWARF, and Mach-O parsers, Bloaty aims to accurately\nattribute every byte of the binary to the symbol or\ncompileunit that produced it. It will even disassemble the\nbinary looking for references to anonymous data.\n\nBloaty supports many features:\n\n- **file formats:** ELF, Mach-O, PE/COFF (experimental), WebAssembly (experimental)\n- **data sources:** compileunit (shown above), symbol, section, segment, etc.\n- **hierarchical profiles:** combine multiple data sources into a single report\n- **size diffs:** see where the binary grew, perfect for CI tests\n- **separate debug files:** strip the binary under test, while making debug data available for analysis\n- **flexible demangling:** demangle C++ symbols, optionally discarding function/template parameters\n- **custom data sources:** regex rewrites of built-in data sources, for custom munging/bucketing\n- **regex filtering:** filter out parts of the binary that do or don't match a given regex\n- **easy to deploy:** statically-linked C++ binary, easy to copy around\n\nFor detailed info on all of Bloaty's features, see the [User\nDocumentation](doc/using.md).\n\nFor more information about the analysis performed by Bloaty,\nplease see [How Bloaty Works](doc/how-bloaty-works.md).\n\n\n## Install\n\nTo build, use `cmake`. For example:\n\n```\n$ cmake -B build -G Ninja -S .\n$ cmake --build build\n$ cmake --build build --target install\n```\n\nBloaty bundles ``libprotobuf``, ``re2``, ``capstone``, and\n``pkg-config`` as Git submodules, and uses ``protoc`` build\nfrom libprotobuf, but it will prefer the system's versions\nof those dependencies if available.
