research and development projects that arms you with the convenience to configure project-local command line aliases – and then\nrun the commands quickly and easily. It is particularly helpful when you deal with multiple projects and switch between\nthem all the time. It is often the fact that different projects use different build tools and have different environment\nrequirements – and then switching from one project to another is becoming increasingly cumbersome. That is where 1build comes\ninto play.\n\nWith 1build you can create simple and easily memorable command aliases for commonly used project commands such as build,\ntest, run or anything else. These aliases will have a project-local scope which means that they will be accessible only\nwithin the project directory. This way you can unify all your projects to build with the same simple command disregarding\nof what build tool they use. It will remove the hassle of remembering all those commands improving the mental focus for\nthe things that actually matter.\n\n## Install\n\n### Homebrew\n\n```console\nbrew install gopinath-langote/one-build/one-build\n```\n\n### Manual\n\n1.  Download and install binary from [the latest release](https://github.com/gopinath-langote/1build/releases/latest)\n2.  Recommended: add `1build` executable to your `$PATH`.\n\n## Usage\n\n### Configuration\n-   Create `1build.yaml` configuration file by\n    ```console\n    1build init --name \u003cyour_project_name\u003e\n    ```\n\n-   Edit file according to project command list, Example of `1build.yaml` for node project:\n    ```yaml\n    project: Sample Web App\n    commands:\n      - build: npm run build\n      - test: npm run test\n    ```\n\n### Running 1build for the above sample project\n\n-   building the project\n```console\n  1build build\n  ```\n\n-   fix the coding guidelines lint and run tests (executing more than one commands at once)\n```console\n  1build lint test\n  ```\n\n### Set new or update existing configuration\n\n-   Set new command configuration for `lint` to `\"eslint server.js\"`\n```console\n   1build set lint \"eslint server.js\"\n   ```\n### Remove/Unset existing configuration\n\n-   Unset command configuration for `lint`\n```console\n   1build unset lint\n   ```\n\n-   To unset multiple commands at once\n```console\n  1build unset lint test build\n  ```\n\n### Using `before` and `after` commands\nConsider that your project requires some environment variables to set before running any\ncommands and you want to clean up those after running commands. It is a headache to always\nremember to set those environment variables. What you want is to set env variables automatically\nwhen you run the command in the project and remove those when the command is complete.\nAnother example – a project requires `Docker` to be up\nand running or you need to clean up the database after running a test harness.\n\nThis is where `before` \u0026 `after` commands are useful. These commands are both optional – \nyou can use one of them, both or neither.\n\n#### Examples\n1.  Setting env variables and cleaning those up\n    ```console\n    1build set before 'export VARNAME=\"my value\"'\n    1build set after \"unset VARNAME\"\n    ```\n  \n    Configuration with before and after setup\n    \n    ```yaml\n    project: Sample Web App\n    before: export VARNAME=\"my value\"\n    after: unset VARNAME\n    commands:\n       - build: npm run build\n    ```\n\n2.  Ensure that `Docker` is up and running\n    ```console\n    1build set before \"./docker_run.sh\"\n    ```\n\n3.  Clean up database after some commands\n    ```console\n    1build set after \"./clean_database.sh\"\n    ```\n\n4.
