But that doesn't mean global installations are\ntotally useless.  What if you want to use a package *without* being\nactive in a virtualenv -- like say ipython?\n\nWith `brew pip` you can globally install a select few packages while\nrelying on virtualenv for everything else.\n\nIt's the best of both worlds.\n\nChangelog\n---------\n\n*In development*\n\n- Add a `--version` argument\n- Handles `@rev` syntax correctly\n\nv0.4.0 *(2011-12-28)*\n\n- Much more robust handling of different package syntaxes\n- Can install VCS packages\n- Add test suite\n\nv0.3.0 *(2011-12-26)*\n\n- Add `brew-pip.rb` for Homebrew installation\n- Can accept local source distributions for installation\n\nv0.2.0 *(2011-12-25)*\n\n- Use pip directly, instead of creating temporary formula files.\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fhanxue%2Fbrew-pip","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Fhanxue%2Fbrew-pip","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fhanxue%2Fbrew-pip/lists"}
