Fiume\n\nThis project models highly speculative Carbon Dioxide Removal to understand\nits effects and speculate how much carbon may need to be removed to return to a\ncarbon dioxide concentration of 280 ppm. The experiments are performed in MAGICC6.8\nand have been run on pymagicc. The repo contains the scenario input files for MAGICC\nand a notebook that outlines the experiments and results.\n\nThe experiments are shown in [ONCtests.ipynb](ONCtests.ipynb) which is \na jupyter notebook that runs pymagicc, and requires windows or \nwine when run on a non-windows platform. To run these experiments, download \n[wine](https://sourceforge.net/projects/wine/files/latest/download),\n[python](https://www.python.org/downloads/), pip, \n[pymagicc](https://github.com/openscm/pymagicc), this repo, and open the \nnotebook in jupyter.\n\n#### Install and run the workbook\nDownload/install [wine](https://sourceforge.net/projects/wine/files/latest/download)\n\nNext open a terminal, and add wine to the path.\n\nThen run:\n```\npip install -r requirements.txt\njupyter-notebook ONCtests.ipynb\n```\n\n#### Install for development \nOpen a terminal and do something like the following:\n\n```\nwhich wine\ngit clone https://github.com/hsbay/cdrmex\ngit clone https://github.com/openscm/pymagicc\ncd pymagicc\nmake venv\n./venv/bin/pip install --editable .\n./venv/bin/pip install ipywidgets appmode\n./venv/bin/pip install -r requirements.txt\njupyter nbextension enable --py --sys-prefix widgetsnbextension\njupyter nbextension enable --py --sys-prefix appmode\njupyter serverextension enable --py --sys-prefix appmode\n./venv/bin/jupyter-notebook ../cdrmex/ONCtests.ipynb\n```\n\nAfter the notebook is up, run all the cells, if they haven't already been populated.\n\nThis workbook uses [pymagicc](https://pymagicc.readthedocs.io/en/latest/) by R.
