You can find it in Ubuntu Softare\nCenter or install it from the terminal with the following command:\n\n$ sudo apt-get install kazam\n\nFor other Ubuntu based distributions the best way to install Kazam is\nto add a PPA repository and then use apt-get command or Software Center.\n\n$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kazam-team/stable-series\n$ sudo apt-get update\n$ sudo apt-get install kazam\n\nFor distribution independent installation you will have to get the latest\ntarball release from Launchpad:\n\nhttp://launchpad.net/kazam/stable/1.4.4/+download/kazam_1.4.4.tar.gz\n\nUnpack it and then run setup:\n\n   $ tar -xzf kazam_1.4.4.tar.gz\n   $ cd kazam-1.4.4\n\nRun installation as root user, or use sudo:\n\n   # python3 setup.py install\n\n\nInstallation - unstable version\n-------------------------------\n\nInstalling current unstable build from a PPA can be done by adding\nunstable series PPA.\n\n$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kazam-team/unstable-series\n$ sudo apt-get update\n$ sudo apt-get install kazam\n\n\nInstallation - development version\n----------------------------------\n\nIf you want bleeding edge, development version then you will have to get\nsource code from Launchpad by running the following command:\n\n   $ bzr branch lp:kazam\n\nThen you need to run setup.py to build and install Kazam:\n\n   $ cd kazam\n   # python3 setup.py install\n\nYou will have to run setup as root user or use sudo. Default installation\npath is /usr/local.\n\n\nRunning Kazam\n-------------\n\nIf you want to run Kazam from the source tree, there are a few limitations\nthat you have to take into account. Every icon has to be taken from\ncurrently installed icon theme. Toolbars will not show any icons and you\nwill not see Unity AppIndicator.\n\nTo run Kazam simply execute the following commands in the source tree:\n\n$ cd bin\n$ ./kazam\n\nIf you already have Kazam installed then Kazam icons will be displayed\nproperly.\n\n\nKeyboard shortcuts\n------------------\n\nSUPER-CTRL-Q - Quit\nSUPER-CTRL-W - Show/Hide main window\nSUPER-CTRL-R - Start Recording\nSUPER-CTRL-F - Finish Recording\n\nKeyboard shortcuts will work on Precise Pangolin only if you installed\nKazam 1.4.x from the PPA, keybinder 3.0 is a dependency and will be installed\nautomatically.\n\nFor Ubuntu 12.10 and newer keyboard binder is available in the universe\nrepositories and there is no need to use PPA to get keybinder installed.\n\n\nRecording Tips\n--------------\n\nFramerates above 20fps are unlikely to work well because of software and\nhardware limitations. If you increase framerate and framerate in\nresulting video drops, that is because encoder can't keep up.\n\nAlways do a sound check. Especially if you are recording a live commentary\nwith background sound. I got the best results when I used earphones to listen\nto the audio while recording. This way your mic will not pick up any audio\ncoming from speakers.\n\nIf you _really_ want loss-less quality, then you will have to record in RAW\nformat. This is possible, but without an SSD with a lot of free space your\nresults will be terrible. 1920x1080 at 15 frames per second will need\naround 45 MB of disk space per second. Most people will want to record at\n20 or 25 frames per second. Most disk will not handle that and your\nsystem will start to crawl.\n\nYour next best bet is HUFFYUV format, which is a little bit friendlier on\ndisk bandwidth with 28 MB per second at 15 frames per second. The problem?\nNot many video editors and players can handle HUFFYUV, let alone video\nsharing services.\n\n\nKnown Issues\n------------\n\n- Trouble with recording audio from certain Monitor sources. I noticed\nthis with Logitech G110 USB Keyboard that can play audio. Pulse\nAudio will see two devices: USP PnP Stereo Device and 'Monitor of USB PnP\nStereo Device'. When recording from the monitor, volume controls for\nboth devices will affect the volume in the final recording.\n\n- I have no idea where to put Mute/Unmute button, so right now every audio\nsource you select is automatically unmuted.\n\n- It was reported that sound is disappearing after couple of minutes into\nthe recording. I wasn't able to reproduce this bug and any more info is\nappreciated. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/kazam/+bug/933835 for more\ndetails.\n\n- Two memory leaks were noticed, one with VP8 encoder and one with Intel\ngraphics cards. Still investigating if this is a driver, Xorg or\nGStreamer problem.\n\n- Non compositing window managers are not able to render transparent\nwindows. Area selection and countdown timers will be affected by this.\nMint users can turn on window compositing in Desktop Settings.\n\n- When taking a screenshot of a preselected window with window decorations\nyou have to make sure that your window is not covered by other windows.\n\n\n\nDebugging \u0026 reporting problems\n------------------------------\n\nIf you encounter a bug or any kind of unexpected behavior please try to\nreproduce it while you run Kazam from standard terminal with --debug option.\nUse Launchpad to report bugs (https://bugs.launchpad.net/kazam/+filebug) and\ninclude generated output.\n\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fhzbd%2Fkazam","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Fhzbd%2Fkazam","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fhzbd%2Fkazam/lists"}
