This project was to\nbe the front end, and [a separate library](https://github.com/icculus/libdimmer)\nwas to deal with driving the hardware.\n\nThe protocol used by lighting boards to talk to lighting systems is\ncalled DMX, so we jokingly called this project DaddyMax. It was\nprobably funny in the 1990's, I don't know.\n\nWe never got far on this project, at the time I didn't have access to\nany sort of DMX hardware I could drive from a PC, and if I were to\nlook through these files, I'm sure we overengineered this into surrender\nalmost immediately. Also, if we're being honest, I wasn't\nsuper-thrilled with the idea of writing GUI apps anyhow.\n\nThat being said, a simple Google search will show that other people also\nthought the _concept_ was good, and you can see that commercial products to\ndrive DMX systems via a PC exist in the world now, and that's good enough\nfor me, honestly.\n\nSo this is just for the history books, it isn't much, and I don't\nexpect I'll be looking at this further.\n\n--ryan (icculus@icculus.org).\n\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Ficculus%2Fdaddymax","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Ficculus%2Fdaddymax","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Ficculus%2Fdaddymax/lists"}
