We mint ourselves.\"*\n\u003e — inscription on the First Seal\n\n---\n\n## ⬡ For the Chain Dwellers\n\nLong before the Interchained, value lived in vaults you could not see, guarded by\nhands that were not yours. You were a row in someone else's ledger — a number\nthey could edit while you slept. To *hold* anything, you first had to *ask*.\n\nThen the Mint opened.\n\nNot a building. Not a company. A **protocol** — a way of striking truth into\nmetal that no sovereign could melt down. The Chain Dwellers were the first to\nwalk through. They came carrying nothing but a name, and they left carrying a\n**Seal**: a coin engraved with guilloché no forger could trace twice, ringed in\ninterlocking links, centered on a single hexagon — the mark of the self-ruled.\n\nThis repository is the **engraver's kit** they left behind. Everything here —\nevery color, every line of the rosette, every tone the coin sings when it is\nstruck — descends from the original medallion. Guard it the way they guarded\ntheir keys: *closely, and without apology.*\n\n---\n\n## The Three Metals\n\nEvery Seal is struck from the same alloy. There are only three, and each has a law.\n\n| Metal | Hex | Law |\n|------|------|-----|\n| **Treasury Navy** | `#033866` | The ground all things are struck upon. Structure, depth, the dark before the light. |\n| **Struck Gold** | `#EABE77 → #FEF8D7` | Value, made visible. Used for the seal, the emphasis, the moment that matters — *never* for noise. |\n| **Heraldic Red** | `#B81B32` | Consequence. Reserved for what is live, what is sealed, and what cannot be undone. |\n\n\u003e A Dweller who gilds everything has gilded nothing. Spend gold like it is rare,\n\u003e because in this system it is.\n\n---\n\n## The Two Houses\n\nThe system speaks in two dialects. Same blood, different hour.\n\n- **The Mint** — cream and daylight. The hall where Seals are struck and shown.\n  Warm, certain, ceremonial.\n- **The Vault** — navy-black and lamplight. Where Seals are *kept*. Quiet, deep,\n  the gold glowing because there is darkness to glow against.\n\nFlip between them in the showcase. Nothing changes but the hour — the laws hold.\n\n---\n\n## The Voice\n\nTwo tongues, and only two:\n\n- **Space Grotesk** speaks for the protocol — headlines, names, declarations.\n  It has authority without nostalgia.\n- **JetBrains Mono** speaks the machine-truth — addresses, blocks, ledgers,\n  serials. When a Dweller needs to read something that *cannot lie*, it is set\n  in mono.\n\nBody text rests in **Hanken Grotesk**. Plainspoken. For when the system simply\nneeds to be understood.\n\n---\n\n## The Marks\n\nThree motifs are carried over from the First Seal. Use them; do not invent new ones.\n\n- **The Guilloché** — the impossibly fine rosette line-work. It is not decoration;\n  it is *proof of authenticity*, the same way it proves a banknote. Where you see\n  it, something is meant to be trusted.\n- **The Hexagon** — the core. The shape of the self that cannot be subdivided.\n- **The Chain Ring** — interlocking links circling the center. Bound together,\n  yet each whole on its own. The paradox the whole system is named for.\n\n---\n\n## The Relics in this Kit\n\n| File | What it is |\n|------|-----------|\n| `Interchained Design System.html` | The full showcase — palette, type, tokens, motifs, components, and the system worn in context. The same name always strikes the same coin. That is the whole point. |\n\n---\n\n## The One Law Above the Rest\n\nThe Mint cannot strike your Seal twice, and it cannot strike it for someone else.\nYour keys never leave your hand. There is no recovery desk, no warm voice on a\nline who can give you back what you have lost.\n\nThis is not a flaw. **It is the sovereignty.**\n\nHold your keys.
