Additionally, we'll look at using some of these ideas with\nthe new matplotlib animation package.\n\nTowards the end, we'll take a look at some more complicated examples of\nanimations and interactive applications in matplotlib.\nSeveral of the examples will be drawn from recent posts on my blog,\n[Pythonic Perambulations](http://jakevdp.github.com).\n\nRequirements\n------------\nThis tutorial requires recent versions of numpy and scipy, as well as\nmatplotlib version 1.1+ (earlier versions will be sufficient for all but\nthe animation components).\n\nDue to a bug in the current version of matplotlib, animation examples will\nnot function in the MacOSX matplotlib backend.
