The application can also integrate non-Android devices into the MANET via UDP.\n\n### Using the Application\n\nThis application must run on a physical Android device, as it uses networking features which\ncannot be emulated. Once the application has started the user must input an \"address\" for the\ndevice, which must be a number. After the user clicks the button to set the address, the discovery\nprocess of the routing protocol is initiated. The user can then send a message to another device\nin the network by inputting the address of the device to send to and the message to transfer, and\nthen clicking the send message button. It is useful to view the application logs in Logcat to\nunderstand what the app is doing.\n\n### AODV Routing\n\nDetails about the AODV routing algorithm can be found in\n[RFC 3561](https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc3561).\n\n### Non-Android Device Connections\n\nAn example of another AODV application that targeted a non-Android device, but connected with\nAndroids in this application via UDP is\n[AODV](https://github.com/fdfea/aodv).\n\n### Future Development\n\nThis application is in active development at the University of Virginia as part of the \"Exploring\nMobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) to Enable Connected Transportation Services\" research being\nconducted in\n[Dr. Haiying Shen's Pervasive Communications Laboratory](https://www.cs.virginia.edu/~hs6ms/research.htm).\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fjrodal98%2Fconnected-crossroad","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Fjrodal98%2Fconnected-crossroad","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fjrodal98%2Fconnected-crossroad/lists"}
