The sources are published under\r\nGPL Licenses. The \"Evolution\" version of xlxd is a is a fork of xlxd that\r\nintends to strongly track to upstream (if there are future changes)\r\nbut standardize and modernize the code. Specifically, the initial goals\r\nare to:\r\n\r\n* Reorganize the project so applications/files follow standard\r\nLinux filesystem conventions\r\n* Package for Debian\r\n* Update the web GUI to create a responsive site for mobile\r\n* Apply certain updates to further customization and branding of the GUI\r\n* Include useful un-actioned pull requests from upstream\r\n\r\n## Supported Protocols since XLX v2.5.x\r\n\r\n- In D-Star, Icom-G3Terminal, DExtra, DPLus and DCS\r\n- In DMR, DMRPlus (dongle) and DMRMmdvm\r\n- In C4FM, YSF, Wires-X and IMRS\r\n- XLX Interlink protocol\r\n\r\n## Copyright\r\n\r\n© 2016-2024 Jean-Luc Deltombe LX3JL and Luc Engelmann LX1IQ\r\n© 2016-2025 Jason McCormick N8EI\r\n\r\n# Usage\r\n\r\nThe packages which are described in this document are designed to install server\r\nsoftware which is used for the D-Star network infrastructure.\r\nIt requires a 24/7 internet connection which can support 20 voice streams or more\r\nto connect repeaters and hotspot dongles!!\r\n\r\n- The server requires a fix IP-address !\r\n- The public IP address should have a DNS record which must be published in the\r\ncommon host files.\r\n\r\nIf you want to run this software please make sure that you can provide this\r\nservice free of charge, like the developer team provides the software and the\r\nnetwork infrastructure free of charge!\r\n\r\n# Requirements\r\n\r\nThe software packages for Linux are tested on Debian 12 and Debian 13.\r\nThe platforms x86\\_64 and aarch64.\r\n\r\n# Installation - Debian Packages\r\nTODO\r\n\r\n# Installation - Source Build\r\nAll installation is done as root - either `sudo -s` or prefix installation\r\nsteps with `sudo`.\r\n\r\n* Install All dependendcies for buildling\r\n    ```bash\r\n    apt install build-essential g++ cmake wget git\r\n    ```\r\n\r\n* Build the software\r\n    ```bash\r\n    git clone https://github.com/jxmx/xlxd-evo.git\r\n    cd xlxd-evo\r\n    make\r\n    ```\r\n\r\n* Install Software\r\n    ```bash\r\n    make install\r\n    make -f systemd/Makefile install-user\r\n    ```\r\n\r\n* Edit configuration\r\n    ```bash\r\n    nano /etc/default/xlxd\r\n    nano /etc/default/ambed\r\n    ```\r\n\r\n    For the most basic/standard setup, just set the variable\r\n    `REFLECTOR` to your reflector.
