It’ll look best when it’s 728px wide, @2x for hi-dpi devices.](preview.png)](https://github.com/kennethormandy/default)\n\n***\n\n--\u003e\n\n# Figment\n\nEditorial and catalogue-inspired `\u003cfigure\u003e` and `\u003cfigcaption\u003e` pairings for mobile-first layouts.\nFigment is a simple CSS framework for well-designed `\u003cfigure\u003e` and `\u003cfigcaption\u003e` pairings.\n\nIt gives you:\n\n- Better default styling for captioned images, videos, embeds\n- A consistent, BEM-like API for specifying inline media layouts, whether you hand-code them in Markdown or use them with a CMS\n- The chance to move to site-specific styles quickly; there’s no\n- Optional configuration, so it can fit to your existing grid\n\n## Getting started\n\nTo run the project locally, clone it and then move into that directory:\n\n```sh\ngit clone http://github.com/kennethormandy/figment\ncd figment\n```\n\nNext, install the development dependencies using [npm](https://npmjs.org):\n\n```sh\nnpm install\n```\n\nFinally, run the project:\n\n```sh\nnpm start\n```\n\nHow, [Harp](http://harpjs.com) is serving it locally for you at [localhost:9000](http://localhost:9000).\n\n## API\n\nAvailable:\n\n```\n.figure--aside    - A figure with the caption as marginalia when possible.\n.figure--border   - A figure framed with a border.\n.figure--browser  - A figure framed with browser chrome.\n.figure--breakout - A figure that visually breaks the container when there is space available.\n.figure--overlay  - An image with an optional overlayed caption.\n.figure--embed    - A figure with media embedded from another service. (ex. Vimeo, YouTube, Twitter card)\n.figure--square   - An embed cropped, scaled, or already set to a square. (ex.
