`nws`\n\nnws is a simple tool designed to launch a simple static web server in your\ncurrent working directory.\n\n## Installation\n\nIn order to install nws you will need Node.js and npm. Simply execute the\nfollowing:\n\n```sh\nnpm install -g nws\n```\n\n## Usage\n\nIn any directory where you are working on a static web project, simply execute\nthe following:\n\n```sh\nnws\n```\n\nThis will launch a server on port `3030` for you to visit in your web browser\nat `http://localhost:3030`.\n\nYou can also specify a port:\n\n```sh\nnws -p 8080\n```\n\nThis will launch a server on port `8080`.\n\nAdd the -o flag to open the site in your default browser\n(http://localhost:3030):\n\n```sh\nnws -o\n```\n\nYou can also specify the directory to use as the document root:\n\n```sh\nnws -d relative/path/to/other/directory\n```\n\nUsing colons you can specify multiple directories to use as roots (like\n`$PATH` in \\*nix):\n\n```sh\nnws -d dir1:dir2\n```\n\nThe directories are searched in order and the first matching file is returned.\nYou can achieve the same thing using quotes and semi-colons if that's more\nyour style:\n\n```sh\nnws -d 'dir1;dir2'\n```\n\nIf you want all requests to resolve to a base path (i.e.\n`http://localhost:3030/basepath`) without having to place all files into a\n`src/basepath` sub-directory, use the `-b` flag:\n\n```sh\nnws -b basepath\n```\n\nYou can enable `gzip` / `deflate` compression with the `-z` flag:\n\n```sh\nnws -z\n```\n\nThe final option is used to control verbosity.
