trim-call\n\nDrops undefined arguments from the end of a function call.\n\nUseful if you’re forwarding arguments from one function to another, but the second function has behavior which is affected by the presence of an explicit `undefined` argument.\n\nAccepts an arguments list, just like [`Function.prototype.call()`](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScript/Reference/Global_Objects/Function/call). If you want to provide an argument array instead, use the [`trim-apply`](https://github.com/lamansky/trim-apply) module.\n\n## Installation\n\nRequires [Node.js](https://nodejs.org/) 6.0.0 or above.\n\n```bash\nnpm i trim-call\n```\n\n## API\n\nThe module exports a function (`trimCall()`) that has one other function attached to it as a method (`trimCall.new()`).\n\n### `trimCall()`\n\n#### Parameters\n\n1. `fn` (function): The function to call.\n2. `thisArg` (any): The value of `this` while the function is being called.\n3. Variadic: `...args` (one or more of: any): The arguments for the function call. Any `undefined` arguments at the end will be dropped.\n\n#### Return Value\n\nThe return value of `fn` when called with `thisArg` and `args`.\n\n### `trimCall.new()`\n\n#### Parameters\n\n1. `Cls` (class): The class whose constructor you want to call.\n2. Variadic: `...args` (one or more of: any): The arguments for the constructor call. Any `undefined` arguments at the end will be dropped.\n\n#### Return Value\n\nA new instance of `Cls` constructed with `args`.\n\n## Examples\n\n```javascript\nconst trimCall = require('trim-call')\n\nf1('test')\n\nfunction f1 (a, b) {\n  trimCall(f2, this, a, b)\n}\n\nfunction f2 () {\n  arguments.length // 1\n}\n```\n\nBecause of `trimCall()`, the `f2()` function only receives one argument.\n\nHere is the above example repeated _without_ `trimCall()`:\n\n```javascript\nf1('test')\n\nfunction f1 (a, b) {\n  f2.call(this, a, b)\n}\n\nfunction f2 () {\n  arguments.length // 2\n}\n```\n\nWithout `trimCall()`, the undefined `b` argument of `f1()` becomes an explicit second argument for `f2()`.\n\n## Related\n\n* [trim-apply](https://github.com/lamansky/trim-apply)\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Flamansky%2Ftrim-call","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Flamansky%2Ftrim-call","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Flamansky%2Ftrim-call/lists"}
