Latest versions of Selenium Client and WebDriver are ideal for running your automation script on LambdaTest Selenium cloud grid.\n\n- Install **Maven**. It can be downloaded and installed following the steps from [the official website](https://maven.apache.org/). Maven can also be installed easily on **Linux/MacOS** using [Homebrew](https://brew.sh/) package manager.\n\n### Cloning Repo And Installing Dependencies\n\n**Step 1:** Clone the LambdaTest’s Geb GitHub Repository and navigate to the code directory as shown below:\n\n```bash\ngit clone https://github.com/LambdaTest/geb-parallel-sample-code\ncd geb-parallel-sample-code\n```\n\n**Step 2:** Compile Maven dependencies using the below command:\n\n```bash\nmvn compile\n```\n\nYou may also want to run the command below to check for outdated dependencies.\n\n```bash\nmvn versions:display-dependency-updates\n```\n\n### Setting Up Your Authentication\n\nMake sure you have your LambdaTest credentials with you to run test automation scripts. You can get these credentials from the [LambdaTest Automation Dashboard](https://automation.lambdatest.com/build?utm_source=github\u0026utm_medium=repo\u0026utm_campaign=geb-parallel-sample-code) or by your [LambdaTest Profile](https://accounts.lambdatest.com/login?utm_source=github\u0026utm_medium=repo\u0026utm_campaign=geb-parallel-sample-code).\n\n**Step 3:** Set LambdaTest **Username** and **Access Key** in environment variables.\n\n* For **Linux/macOS**:\n  \n  ```bash\n  export LT_USERNAME=\"YOUR_USERNAME\" \n  export LT_ACCESS_KEY=\"YOUR ACCESS KEY\"\n  ```\n  * For **Windows**:\n  ```bash\n  set LT_USERNAME=\"YOUR_USERNAME\" \n  set LT_ACCESS_KEY=\"YOUR ACCESS KEY\"\n  ```\n\n## Run Your First Test\n\n### Configuring Your Test Capabilities\n\n**Step 4:** In `capabilities.json` file, you need to update your test capabilities. Here, we are passing browser, browser version, and operating system information, along with LambdaTest Selenium grid capabilities via capabilities object. The capabilities object in the above code are defined as:\n\n```json title=\"capabilities.json\"\n{\n  \"build\": \"GebParallelTest\", \n  \"platform\":  \"Windows 10\", \n  \"browserName\": \"Microsoft Edge\", \n  \"version\":\"latest\"\n}\n\n{\n  \"build\": \"GebParallelTest\", \n  \"platform\":  \"Windows 10\", \n  \"browserName\": \"Chrome\", \n  \"version\":\"latest\"\n}\n```\n\nYou can generate capabilities for your test requirements with the help of [Desired Capability Generator](https://www.lambdatest.com/capabilities-generator/?utm_source=github\u0026utm_medium=repo\u0026utm_campaign=geb-parallel-sample-code).\n\n### Executing The Test\n\n**Step 5:** The tests can be executed in the terminal from the root of the project using the following commands:\n\n```bash\n./run.sh\n```\n\n```bash\nmvn -Dlambdageb.capabilities=capabilities clean test\n```\n\nYour test results would be displayed on the test console (or command-line interface if you are using terminal/cmd) and on LambdaTest Automation Dashboard. \n\n## Testing Locally Hosted Or Privately Hosted Projects\n\nYou can test your locally hosted or privately hosted projects with LambdaTest Selenium grid using LambdaTest Tunnel. All you would have to do is set up an SSH tunnel using tunnel and pass toggle `tunnel = True` via desired capabilities.
