[Fork this repository](#forking-the-repository-on-github)\n2. [Deploy to your static hosting provider](#deploying-to-your-static-hosting-provider)\n3. [Create a Github App](#creating-the-github-app)\n4. [Configure environment variables](#configure-environment-variables)\n\n#### Forking the repository on Github\n\n1. Go to https://github.com/m4rrc0/poko-capsule-website\n2. Click on \"Fork\" (in the top right corner)\n\n#### Deploying to your static hosting provider\n\nThis step depends on the static hosting provider you choose but generally involves:\n\n- Creating an account\n- Creating a new project connected to the forked repository you just created\n- Edit your environment variables and project configuration\n\n#### Creating the Github App\n\n1. Go to https://github.com/settings/apps\n2. Click on \"New GitHub App\" (in the top right corner)\n3. Fill in the form according to the [Github app creation form](./docs/github-app-creation.md)\n\n#### Configure environment variables\n\nEnvironment variables are values specific to your project that allows you to tie this source code to your specific project instance and to the services you use.\n\nThe environment variables are set in the provider's dashboard. \nIf you want to see the full list of possible environment variables, have a look at the `.env.template` file. \nBut the main variable you care about are the following:\n\n- `PUBLIC_KEYSTATIC_GITHUB_APP_SLUG`\n- `KEYSTATIC_GITHUB_CLIENT_ID`\n- `KEYSTATIC_GITHUB_CLIENT_SECRET`\n- `PUBLIC_REPO`\n- `KEYSTATIC_SECRET`\n\nThe first 3 are retrieved from the Github app creation form. (See above) \n\nThe `PUBLIC_REPO` is the repository where your content is stored in the form `owner/repo-name`. This variable shouldn't be necessary on Netlify or Vercel but it is on Cloudflare Pages.\n\nThe `KEYSTATIC_SECRET` is a random 64 characters string that you can generate with this little helper app for example: https://keystatic-deploy-test.netlify.app/generate-keystatic-secret/ \n(or with the `generate-secret` npm script if you know how to do this)\n\n### A note about working locally\n\nAdvanced users might want to work on their project locally. It can have many advantages but is not recommended for non-developers.\n\nHere are a few things you need to know when working locally.\n\n- Github app creation: You can follow the [Keystatic documentation](https://keystatic.com/docs/github-mode) to create the Github app.\n- Keystatic secret: You can generate it with the `generate-secret` npm script\n- You need a `.env` file. Copy the `.env.template` file and fill in the variables.\n\nDepending on the advancement of the project, you might sometimes find more technical documentation in the [m4rrc0/keystatic-deploy-test repository](\nhttps://github.com/m4rrc0/keystatic-deploy-test/).\n\n## Roadmap and Maybes\n\n- [ ] \n\n## Ressources\n\n- [Eleventy Keystatic Starter](https://github.com/m4rrc0/eleventy-keystatic-starter)\n\n\n## 💸 Money talk: disclosure and commitment\n\nWhile poko is [open source](https://itsfoss.com/what-is-foss/) and free for personal use, its use is currently subject to a one-time fee for commercial or non-personal projects.\n\nThe open source movement is awesome and an example for so many disciplines and industries. We want to be part of it! \nAt the same time, there is a tricky balance to be found between simply giving away the most precious thing we have (our time) for what we believe in and making a project viable on the long run. Many open source maintainers still struggle to find the time and ressources to work on their projects, as awesome as they are.\n\nWe hope that, with time, we will find that perfect balance. In the meantime, here are a few principles and commitments we try to work by:\n\n- Be transparent about our financial situation and commitments\n- Follow our mission and values above profit\n- Trust our community to support the project in the best way they can\n- Transfer part of our profit to the main open source projects we rely on\n\n## Contributing\n\npoko is an open source project that thrives on community involvement. We welcome contributions of all kinds, from all people!\n\npoko is a project that is supported by the mookaï ASBL, a non-profit organization. \n\n### Ways to Contribute\n\n- **Code**: Fix bugs, add features, or improve performance\n- **Documentation**: Help improve guides, clarify concepts, or fix typos\n- **Design**: Create themes, improve UI/UX, or create visual assets\n- **Testing**: Try poko in different environments and report issues\n- **Ideas**: Suggest features or improvements\n- **Spread the word**: Tell others about poko!\n\n### Getting Started\n\n1. **Fork the repository** and clone it locally\n2. **Create a branch** for your contribution\n3. **Make your changes** and test them thoroughly\n4. **Commit your changes** with clear, descriptive messages\n5. **Push your changes** to your fork\n6. **Submit a pull request** describing your changes\n\n### Development Guidelines\n\n- Focus on eco-friendly, accessible, and performant code\n- Maintain backward compatibility where possible\n- Add tests for new features when applicable\n- Follow the existing code style and formatting\n- Keep dependencies to a minimum\n\n### Community\n\nJoin our growing community of independent web creators!
