Beware that this reduces system security.\n\nScript `mavifmext_reduced.sh`\n=============================\n\nThis script creates a dialog-based selection menu of devices available for\nmounting. It filters out any device that is either in `/proc/mdstat` or already\nmounted as a safety measure against accidentally mounting a system volume.\n\n![Screenshot of the mounting dialog](vifm-ext_att/scrmount.png)\n\nAfter obtaining the device selection from the user, the script invokes\n`ma_mount` for the actual mount process.\n\nScript `ma_mount`\n=================\n\nMost Desktop Environments provide convenient means to mount any device.\nUnfortunately, when using a window manager only, this feature is sometimes\nunreliable due to missing session or background daemons. In the past, release\nupdates repreatedly “destroyed” what was before a working `mount` command to be\nused by regular users.\n\nDue to that situation, script `ma_mount` was created to solve the issue by the\n“sledgehammer approach” of allowing users to mount devices with `sudo`.\n\nInstead of giving users access to `mount` via sudo directly, the script has some\nadditional sanity checks to avoid malicious bind mounts that could effectively\ngive users root access. Note that these measures are most likely insufficient\nagainst a sophisticated adversary who analyzes the script thoroughly.\n\nNote: The documentation here is incomplete on purpose. Users are highly\nencouraged to find an alternative solution for their needs.\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fm7a%2Flp-vifm-ext","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Fm7a%2Flp-vifm-ext","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fm7a%2Flp-vifm-ext/lists"}
