Well, I have tried to find a solution for the deplyoment of multi-repository microservices, which allows the automatic replication of new releases by the services telling the master-repository about a new release per event. are there already better and more sophisticated options? Probably.\n\n# Usage\nWhen using this action three parameters are passed:\n\n| Input         | Required           | Description  |\n| :----------- |:-------------:| :----- |\n| tag      | true | The image release/tag you want to deploy |\n| name      | true |   The name of the container (in the k8s deployment, not the image name) you want to apply the tag to |\n| deployment | true      | the path to the deployment yaml file |\n\n**Important**: the name refers to the name an image was given, not the name of the actual image!\n\n``` yaml\n...\n  ...\n    spec:\n      containers:\n        - name: \u003csome-name\u003e # this is what you pass as name\n          image: \u003csome-author\u003e/\u003csome-image\u003e:\u003csome-tag\u003e\n```\n---\n**Example**: A service repository triggers an event named new-release when creating a tag:\n\n``` yaml\nname: generic workflow\non:\n  repository_dispatch:\n    types: [new-release]\njobs:\n  updateDeployment:\n    runs-on: ubuntu-latest\n    steps:\n      - name: Checkout master-repository\n        uses: actions/checkout@v2\n      - name: Apply the new tag to the image\n        uses: mark-hartmann/update-deployment-action@develop\n        with:\n          tag: ${{ github.event.client_payload.ref }} # refs/tags/ gets automatically removed\n          name: name-of-deployment\n          deployment: generic-deployment.yaml\n```\n\n## Attention\nThis action commits no changes!
