library implements the provided [SPI](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Service_provider_interface) for the asynchronous \nand non-blocking http calls in the new [AWS Java SDK](https://github.com/aws/aws-sdk-java-v2) with \n[Akka HTTP](https://github.com/akka/akka-http).\n\nThis is an alternative implementation to the built-in netty-based async http engine in the aws sdk. This can be achieved in the following way:\n\n```scala\nval system = ActorSystem(\"aws-akka-http\")\n\nval proxyHost = \"localhost\"\nval proxyPort = 8888\n\nval httpsProxyTransport = ClientTransport.httpsProxy(InetSocketAddress.createUnresolved(proxyHost, proxyPort))\n\nval settings = ConnectionPoolSettings(system)\n  .withConnectionSettings(ClientConnectionSettings(system)\n  .withTransport(httpsProxyTransport))\n\nlazy val akkaHttpClient = \n  AkkaHttpClient\n    .builder()\n    .withActorSystem(system)\n    .withConnectionPoolSettings(settings)\n    .build()\n    \nval client = S3AsyncClient\n\t.builder()\n\t.credentialsProvider(ProfileCredentialsProvider.builder().build())\n\t.region(Region.EU_CENTRAL_1)\n\t.httpClient(akkaHttpClient)\n\t.build()\n              \nval eventualResponse = client.listBuckets()\n```\n\nWhen you use this library and a specific AWS service (e.g. S3, SQS, etc...) you may want to exclude the transitive\nNetty dependency `netty-nio-client` like this:\n\n```scala\nlibraryDependencies ++= Seq(\n  \"software.amazon.awssdk\" % \"s3\" % \"2.11.4\" exclude(\"software.amazon.awssdk\", \"netty-nio-client\")\n)\n```\n\nIf you not exclude the transitive dependency like shown above you have to explicitly declare which `httpClient` to use \nin the service client instantiation. If no client is explicitly set and multiple implementations for the `SdkAsyncHttpClient`\nare found on the classpath, an exception like the following is thrown at runtime:\n\n```java\nsoftware.amazon.awssdk.core.exception.SdkClientException: Multiple HTTP implementations were found on the classpath. \n    To avoid non-deterministic loading implementations, please explicitly provide an HTTP client via the client builders, \n    set the software.amazon.awssdk.http.async.service.impl system property with the FQCN of the HTTP service to use as the \n    default, or remove all but one HTTP implementation from the classpath\n```\n\nTo further reduce the classpath it is also optional possible to exclude `\"software.amazon.awssdk\", \"apache-client\"`. \nThis excludes an additional HttpClient, which comes as a transitive dependency with a AWS service.\n\nThere also exists an [mini example project](https://github.com/matsluni/aws-spi-akka-http-example) which shows the usage.\nThis example uses gradle and also shows how to exclude the netty dependency.\n\n## Running the tests in this repo\n\nIn this repository there are unit tests and integration tests. The unit tests run against some local started aws \nservices, which test some basic functionality and do not use real services from aws and cost no money. \n\nBut, there are also integration tests which require **valid aws credentials** to run and running these tests is **not for free**. \nIf you are not careful it can cost you money on aws.
