Build the 4-e.gba ROM or download it from\n    [releases](https://github.com/mattieb/4-e/releases).\n\n2.  Using [gbfs-web](https://mattiebee.app/gbfs-web), attach the\n    e-Card .bin files you wish to use to 4-e.gba, and save a new\n    ROM.\n\n    -   You can also use the standard tools from\n        [GBFS](https://pineight.com/gba/#gbfs) to create a GBFS\n        file, then concatenate it to 4-e.gba.  (These tools are\n        also included in the \"gba-tools\" package in devkitARM.)\n\n3.  Link two Game Boy Advance systems with a link cable.  The game\n    must be player 1, and 4-e must be player 2.\n\n4.  On the first system, run Super Mario Advance 4.\n\n5.  On the second system, run your custom 4-e ROM.\n\n6.  Pick the e-Card you wish you send from the list. If your GBFS\n    file only had one e-Card in it, it will be selected automatically.\n    From this point on, you can cancel and reset by pressing B.\n\n7.  On the first system, start the e-Reader communication process.\n    4-e will connect to the game automatically and try to send your\n    card.\n\n8.  When the game has finished, press any button on 4-e to reset\n    so you can send another card if you wish.\n\n## Troubleshooting\n\n### 4-e doesn't respond when I start communication\n\nCheck that your link cable is connected firmly and correctly.\n\n-   If you're using the official Nintendo link cable, it must be\n    connected with the purple end to the game and the gray end to\n    4-e.\n\n-   If you're using the Analogue Pocket link cable, it must be\n    switched to GBA mode, not GB/C mode.\n\n## Thanks\n\n4-e wouldn't exist without:\n\n- [devkitARM](https://devkitpro.org/wiki/devkitARM)\n\n- [gba-makefile-template](https://github.com/gbadev-org/gba-makefile-template)\n\n- GBATEK (specifically the section on [GBA Communication\nPorts](https://problemkaputt.de/gbatek.htm#gbacommunicationports))\n\n- [GBFS](https://pineight.com/gba/#gbfs)\n\n- [mGBA](https://mgba.io)\n","funding_links":[],"categories":[],"sub_categories":[],"project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fmattieb%2F4-e","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Fmattieb%2F4-e","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fmattieb%2F4-e/lists"}
