art\"](#prior-art)\n\n## Abstract\n\nMonty `(/ˈmɒntɪ/)` is a language toolchain for a subset of Python 3.0+\nit is designed from the ground up to be an LSP-first compiler, emphasizing\nhigh responsiveness and extraordinarily fast compile times.\n\nSimilar alternatives are already mature and pretty impressive, namely:\n\n- [Codon](https://github.com/exaloop/codon)\n- [LPython](https://github.com/lcompilers/lpython)\n\nThe compiler aims to maintain the inherent dynamism of Python while\nincorporating advanced type inference and type-checking capabilities.\n\nKey Differentiators:\n\n1.  Compile-Time Execution of Global Scope: Monty evaluates code in the global\n    scope at compile-time, thereby making the import process static. This\n    architectural decision is intended to encourage the segregation of business\n    logic from initialization code.\n\n2.  Advanced Typing Semantics: Monty's type system is influenced by prominent\n    type checkers such as pytype, pyright, and pyre.
