Install the requirements: `pip install -r requirements.txt`\n2. Run the build script: `python deckgen.py build`\n3. To view the slide decks, navigate to the **decks** directory using a modern\n   browser.\n\n\nHow it works\n------------\nThere are three important directories: **markdown**, **decks**, and **assets**.\n\n- **markdown** contains the source markdown files.\n- **decks** contains the resulting HTML slide decks.\n- **assets** contains assets used by the slide decks.\n\nWhen building a slide deck, the build script just takes the markdown file from\nthe **source** directory, inserts it into the **template.html** file, and saves\nthe result in the **decks** directory. That is all.\n\n\nUsing the watcher\n-----------------\nThere is a filesystem watcher utility included in **deckgen.py** that can listen\nfor changes to markdown files and convert them on the fly. *This is convenient\nwhen editing slide decks.*\n\nIt can be started by running `deckgen.py watch`.\n\n\ndeckgen.py --help\n-----------------\n```\nStandalone slide deck collection builder.\n\nUsage:\n  deckgen.py build [-s SRC] [-d DEST] [-t TEMP] [NAME...]\n  deckgen.py watch [-s SRC] [-d DEST] [-t TEMP]\n  deckgen.py -h | --help\n\nArguments:\n  name   The name of a slide deck to generate. Accompanying markdown should be\n  located in the source directory. For example, if the markdown file is\n  named \"slides.md\", the name \"slides\" should be passed.\n  If no names are passed, the default behavior is to run against ALL\n  markdown files in the source directory\n\nOptions:\n  -h --help               Show this help screen.\n  -s --source=SRC         Source markdown directory [default: markdown].\n  -d --destination=DEST   Destination HTML directory [default: decks].\n  -t --template=TEMP      HTML template to use [default: template.html].\n```\n","project_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fmitodl%2Fist-slides","html_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/projects/github.com%2Fmitodl%2Fist-slides","lists_url":"https://awesome.ecosyste.ms/api/v1/projects/github.com%2Fmitodl%2Fist-slides/lists"}
