It was designed to work without the need of a development server running in the background, like so many other templates, and it's hence free of cross domain request constraints ([CORS](https://reactjs.org/)). It's further explained [in my article on Medium](https://medium.com/@michael.m/creating-an-electron-and-react-template-5173d086549a).\n\n## Installing\n\nTo clone and run this repository you'll need [Git](https://git-scm.com) and [Node.js](https://nodejs.org/en/download/) (which comes with [npm](http://npmjs.com)) installed on your computer. From your command line:\n\n```bash\n# Clone this repository\ngit clone https://github.com/mmick66/electrate my-app\n# Go into the repository\ncd my-app\n# Install dependencies\nnpm install\n```\n\n## Running\n\n```\nnpm run start\n```\n\n## Testing\n\nThe tool of choice is [Jest](https://facebook.github.io/jest/docs/en/tutorial-react.html) as used at Facebook. Create files with the extension `*.test.js` and they will be run through\n\n```\nnpm run test\n```\n\n## Packaging\n\nReplace the icon inside the `build` folder and run\n\n```bash\nnpm run release\n```\n\nCheck the `dist` folder for the app\n\n\n## How Electron Works with React\n\nThis template compiles all `*.js` files in `src` into standard JS and copies it to `app`. There it includes `*.html` and `*.css` together with the `main.js` start file.
