Für die Sozialwissenschaften, die bisher von offiziellen Registerdaten und/oder Rückschlüsse auf soziale Prozesse ziehen musste, ist der Zugang zu diesen \"gefundendenen\" Daten ein großes Potential. \n\nInsbesondere Soziale Medien erlauben einen Einblick in Prozesse, die zuvor kaum beobachtbar waren. Die Probleme mit diesen Quellen sind eher der kaum zu kontrollierende Überfluss als die mangelnde Verfügbarkeit. Aus diesem Grund sind zunehmend Wissenschafter*innen dazu übergegangen, (teil-) automatisierte Verfahren in die eigenen Forschungsprozesse miteinzubeziehen.
