Each tool gets a short researched entry built\naround one question: what problem does this solve for someone building\nsoftware on their own?\n\nThe catalog is consulted during idea exploration, PRD writing, and planning,\nso an existing tool gets considered before rolling a custom solution.\n\n## Layout\n\n- `tools/\u003cslug\u003e.md`: one researched entry per tool.\n- `INDEX.md`: generated problem-first index, the query layer.\n- `taxonomy.md`: the controlled vocabulary of problem areas.\n- `sources.yaml`: sponsor pages scraped for candidate tools.\n- `queue.md`: ad-hoc requests to research or re-research a tool.\n- `REFRESH.md`: the runbook for scraping, research, and indexing. It also\n  defines the entry format, the ring rubric, and the scope filter.\n- `CHANGELOG.md`: what each refresh run did.\n\n## The ring model\n\nEvery entry carries a `ring`, borrowed from the ThoughtWorks Tech Radar:\n\n- `adopt`: proven in my own work, a default choice.\n- `trial`: actively being tried on a real project.\n- `assess`: worth knowing, not yet tried.\n- `hold`: not a fit for solo side-project work, with the reason recorded.\n\nScraped entries default to `assess`.
