official `python h3 library \u003chttps://github.com/uber/h3-py\u003e`_ - instead it provides more\nhigh-level functions on top of H3 and integrations into common dataframe libraries.\n\nDocumentation Currently I am not working much with H3 any more,\nso I have very little time to spend on this library, or even to keep up with standard maintenance tasks like upgrades\nor answering pull requests and issues. To keep this project somewhat alive, additional maintainers would be very welcome.\n\nFeatures\n--------\n\n* H3 algorithms provided using the performant `h3o \u003chttps://github.com/HydroniumLabs/h3o\u003e`_ library.\n* Build on `Apache Arrow \u003chttps://arrow.apache.org\u003e`_ and the lightweight `arro3 \u003chttps://github.com/kylebarron/arro3\u003e`_ for efficient data handling. The arrow memory model is compatible with dataframe libraries like `pandas \u003chttps://pandas.pydata.org\u003e`_ and `polars \u003chttps://www.pola.rs/\u003e`_.\n* Extensions for the polars `Series`` and  `Expr` APIs.\n* Some dedicated functions to work with `geopandas \u003chttps://geopandas.org\u003e`_ `GeoSeries`.\n* Multi-threaded conversion of raster data to the H3 grid using `numpy arrays \u003chttps://numpy.org/\u003e`_.\n* Multi-threaded conversion of vector data, including `geopandas` `GeoDataFrames` and any object which supports the python `__geo_interface__` protocol (`shapely`, `geojson`, ...).\n\n\nLimitations\n-----------\n\nNot all functionalities of the H3 grid are wrapped by this library, the current feature-set was implemented\nwhen there was a need and the time for it.
