package](http://img.shields.io/npm/v/home-config.svg?style=flat)](https://www.npmjs.org/package/home-config)\n\nThis Node.js module provides an easy way to read and write configuration files in\na user's home directory, where many Linux applications store configuration\nfiles.\n\nTo install it: `npm install home-config`\n\nThe home directory is `process.env.HOME`, unless you are on Windows, in which\ncase it is `process.env.USERPROFILE`.\n\nConfiguration files are stored in ini format as parsed by\n[isaacs/ini](https://github.com/isaacs/ini).  `key = value` lines work, and\n`[section]` appears as an object with any properties under it as keys.\n\n## Usage\n\nBasic usage is to require the module and call `.load()` with your desired\nconfig filename:\n\n```js\nvar cfg = require('home-config').load('.myapprc');\n\n// or\n\nvar cfg = require('home-config').load('.myapprc', {\n    optionName : 'defaultValue'\n});\n```\n\nYou can make changes then save your config file (but any user comments or\nindentation will be removed):\n\n```js\ncfg.section = {\n    property : 'x'\n};\n\ncfg.save();\n\n// or\n\ncfg.save('some-other-filename');\n```\n\nThe following top-level config key names are prohibited and will not be saved\nor loaded:\n- `save`\n- `getAll`\n- `__filename`\n\nFinally, this package is designed to work with config files in the current\nuser's home directory, but all filenames are passed to\n[`path.resolve`](http://nodejs.org/api/path.html#path_path_resolve_from_to), so\nif you pass an absolute path to `.load()` or `.save()` then it will be
